The WiiU, the Xbox One, my cellphone, my laptop, my (shitty) PC, even the goddam Ouya--i can plug in additional memory at any moment. It's quick and painless.
Scenario A: Xbox One-- 500GB HDD isn't enough? Just plug in a 2 TB HDD and suddenly, you have 2500GB to play with. So easy, a baby could do it!
Scenario B: PlayStation 4-- 500GB HDD isn't enough?Back up all of your saves and certain content (Game DVR footage, PT, etc. Remove your internal HDD. Replace it with the new HDD (we'll say 2TB). ). Toss that 500GB to the side because you can't use it on your PS4, anymore. Download your firmware from the internet and save it to a thumb drive or other USB device. Plug it into your PS4 and update the entire system. Re-enter all of your PlayStation information because you basically have a factory reset system. Then select "Restore PS4". Plug in your OTHER memory stick with your back up data. Let it transfer to your new HDD. This can take a few minutes (I only backed up about 7gb of content) or a SEVERAL HOURS.Re-download anything you didn't back up from the PSN. Now, you have 2TB of memory (because, as I mentioned, you can no longer use that initial 500GB).
Now, which one sounds easier?
I just went through the second ordeal, yesterday. It got frustrating because I kept downloading Update 4.05 instead of update 4.05.
Update 4.05? That's the same number both times! Well, no shit! I didn't know there were two updates with the exact same number and the first one wasn't the right one!!
Tl:dr?
The PS4 Pro releases on November 10th. I already preordered it and it's going to be awesome. However, a TB isn't enough to hold all of the games I have. I buy mostly digital, these days so every time I delete, I have to download, again. I'm not looking forward to upgrading the memory of my Pro.
