Wow, what the hell is happening in this thread? Some of these predictions are so ridiculous that the fact we don't even know the price of Switch becomes irrelevant.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

It won't even get half the games ps4 gets and the Playstation fanbase is different to thr Nintendo one.  The ps4 will do just fine.

We don't really know that... 3DS is killing it and I know that Nintendo will eventually let the 3DS down. 3DS is doing very well against vita and as a console in general. If Switch gets the 3rd party support it is recieving now with 3DS, it'll be a wrap for Playstation in Japan. Consoles are a dying breed over there, this thing is going to bridge the gap and redefine what we think a console or a handheld should be. PS has only recently outsold Wii U in Japan, if it were that big over there, we'd seen PS4 outsell Wii U within the first year  which didn't happen, or even the second year. Japan is very mobile, I think this will change things over there.

In the US, this thing will have another story but in Japan, if NX gets support from Level 5, Sega, Capcom, Konami, Square Enix (which it most likely will), NX will be a runaway success in Japan.

Haha ps4 is doomed all over again. It's on track to sell 8m+ and the NX ain't changing that.  next year will be fun when ps4 sells over 1.5m like this year.

I think it will effectively kill the Vita and 3DS in Japan, but PS4 will still do ok, though Switch I think is pretty much destined to be no.1 in Japan (if it doesn't Nintendo has really fucked up in some way).

Pokemon, Splatoon, Dragon Quest, Mario/Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and probably Monster Hunter, Minecraft, and Yokai Watch all one device = game over.

Not saying that PS4 is doomed, but consoles in general in Japan don't sell well. The only games that will change that are Final Fantasy XV and Dragon Quest XI. So I guess, PS4 will be able to hold its own. We'll just have to wait and see. I'm seeing PS4 sell less than 20K a period on vgchartz in Japan. We don't know what Switch will do just yet.

Surpsied to see you here (not really). What people are really saying, its going to crush PS4 in overall sales in Japan.

There will still be an audience for PS4 in Japan because of exclusives. But it will be bad for Playstation if those exclusives start making... the switch.

Lets first  swe if the "switch" can even run games like ff15,kh3 etc.

And lets nor forget ff7 remake now THAT  game is going  to murder everything  in japan.

Uhmmm... are you aware 3DS has IPs more popular than those in Japan?

Those games may not come to Switch. But future releases of FF and KH might. Especially if Switch trounces PS4/PS5's userbase.

The 3DS already sold 20+ millions on Japan and even so the PS4 is still selling well. I don' know why people think that only 1 console can sell on a country.

There will be hardly anything more popular than Dragon Quest for the Japanese console market.

You're probably right, which is why DQXI is coming to 3DS and Switch.

Sure look at India and China populations.

Fact is they sell similar thus are big console gaming markets.

Except UK, France, Germany etc aren`t really big console gaming markets. Europe as a whole is, sure, but the individual countries, not so much.

Unlike India (and formerly China) Japan has the economy to support a large market and most importantly the history of having a large console market. Japan used to be easily bigger than any individual European country so to be compared to them now just shows how much the market their has declined.

Why India and China can't support a large market of video game ? did you know that China's PC market is one of the biggest in the world and, China, is the biggest market for Video game in the world.

They say that Japan has twice the population of the other countries. But the GDP is only  +- 4-4.5 trillions against 2.5-4 trillions of France, Uk and Germany(each with 2.5-4 trillions).

That really makes no sense. Since in those countries, France, Uk, Germany, a game can pay itself, those are big countries for gaming. Same for Japan
