Forums - Gaming Discussion - Darksiders: Warmastered Edition (Wii U, Xbox One, PS4) delayed until November

I hope Digital Foundry covers the Wii U version, I'm very interested to see how it holds up, technically speaking. I sincerely doubt it will be 1080p given it's sub-720p on PS360.

If it's a decent port, my brother's gonna buy it. He's played it before on PS3 and wants to give it another go, but our PS3 died.

I have the Wii U retail version preordered through amazon.ca... It says its release date is March 2017... I hope its wrong.

There's probably no Wii U physical release at launch because people don't want to stock Wii U games, and wait for it to sell out.

At this point, I wouldn't be overly shocked if the Wii U version never ends up coming to disc.

How many times has this game(s) been ported? Has this developer done anything else?

Probably the thing I'm most looking for is seeing the digital FOundary thing on this game, I would like to see how they pull off 1080P.... If they even do.

I'm 99% sure the 1080p part is a mistake. The game ran at 1152x648 on PS3 and 360. I can't think of a single game that's sub-HD on PS3/360 and 1080p on Wii U.

This has got to be the most re-released game ever. How many times is this now?

Don't worry. We still can get a Switch version and a version that uses the PS4Pro and Scorpio power. XD

You know it deserves the GOTY.

1080p is no mistake, it was listed in the original press release and maybe even this one, I haven't seen what the press release for the delay looks like. And I believe the Devs are the same people as Legend of Kay, at least I read that before(I haven't check the truthfulness of it), so they have experienced devs on it. I hope they can pull it off. Though if it was possible, I would have loved to seen 720p with an unlocked 60fps. But that might have been to much for Wii U. probably also a lot more work than just upscaling all the texture to be 1080p. Maybe they are just calling upscaled 1080p.... As in real native 1080p.

Wii U has a bit more juice than PS360, but not enough to boost a sub-HD game to native 1080p. Even in cases where Wii U does have a resolution advantage over those consoles in a multiplat title, it's always a relatively slight one, such as locked 720p over dynamic 720p, or 720p vs 648p.
