Gears sold less than No Man's Sky
and ~half of U4

Play anywhere is now the new excuse for poor performances?

I don't think there's many people that own both a decent PC and XB1 to even care about this. Yes digital is on the rise but 'Play Anywhere' is hardly a factor here.

well we dont know exact numbers. if its around the 100K~ range, its good sales. surely a decline for the series, without a doubt. but its not horrible or bad sales.

but yeah, halo had 50% digital, and now the excuse seems to be play anywhere.

That's what I mean, it's underperformed for Gears. 100k would be a great launch for most games but for Gears it's poor. Even if you adjust it up to allow for Digital rise and 'Play anywhere' it's not great. Let's not forget this is the second most anticipated XB1 exclusive in it's second strongest market.

Wow this is crazy.  the uncharted series has truly eclipsed the gears series.  A drop from 330k to this is just nuts.  Not like the x1 hasn't sold well in the UK either.

Fifa continues to beast,  the chart has been taken over by Playstation thanks to the psvr launches and tomb raider opens around the same as on X1.

Finally dragon quest builders opens bigger than heroes and VII.  Should have legs and do well over the holidays.  SE will be happy and the chances of getting builders 2 with online in 2017 is high.

Microsoft's big three have all seen significant decline this gen. It's clear that they need to start diversifying and creating new IP in future if they want to make the Xbox brand desirable. They are paying for their laziness at this point.

Gears has had a shit ton of advertisements too

Gears between 55k - 105k according to Gaf.

Disappointing debut for Gears. Even if the digital share was 40%, which is very high, the total would be 160-180k. With "Play Any Where" thing, I expect the share to be around 33% for big titles.

FH3 did very well, but Gears unfortunately didn't.

Ouch. Yeah halo,  gears,  forza,  fable ain't cutting it this gen. I can't see Microsoft properly investing in new IPs from these developers either.  Big declines overall for their first party games.

Apparently Dragon Quest Builders > Dragon Quest Heroes > Dragon Quest VII (3DS).

That's great especially at that price and the fact that the PSV version is digital only.

Square Enix will be happy with that performance.  And they made the correct performance giving ps4 a version of DQ11.
