Honestly, bets should be a required thing on this site. If you spout stupid shit and someone calls you out on it, you should have to take the bet. Of course you won't, because you don't actually believe anything you're saying (just like Goodnightmoon said). You're just trying to get a rise out of people (like Goodnightmoon and myself). This is always how I get banned.

I only posted my take on the matter, I didn't insult anyone and I certainly didn't call other's views stupid shit, so where is this idea that I'm trying to get a rise out of you coming from? It's all on you if you're offended by people having different thoughts from your own. I don't go around attacking people just because they like this game, and you have to believe that because there's tangible proof via my post history.

I wasn't interested in the game at all at first but I spontaneously pre-ordered it yesterday because it was only €35 on Amazon and the people who weren't pissed on principle ("it's Sticker Star 2! It can't be good!") gave it great reviews. My copy will arrive tomorrow (read: I'll get a €5 Amazon Voucher because they promised delivery today) and I'm looking forward to it!

Great! Yes here on Europe the game is around 40€, which I think is a very sweet price for it, hard not to fall into temptation even if you are not sure about it.

Still higher than I thought it would get (and probably deserves).

I think most of that high rateing is simply people loveing the art-style and humor.

If you actually read the reviews you'll see is not the only thing, this game puzzles are cool for example and many reviews says the battle is flawed but not necessarily boring. Then there is also the music (Is remarkably good) and the high variety of situations and different environments.

It's still not a bad score, but I expect more from a Paper Mario game. Paper Mario to me has always been something like Zelda is to most Nintendo fans. If Zelda BotW scores a 79 it will be considered a disappointment. Paper Mario will never score above the 8/10 if it continues with the broken item/battle system because it simply doesn't work. Not a very hard thing to realize but Nintendo still has difficulties with this logic.

In the exemple you are using Paper Mario scoring around 80 is something similar to a new Zelda scoring around 90 or something, color Splash is like 7 points behind the best rated of the series.
