Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft: “Nintendo has learned from the Wii U” with NX

Continuing on from his comments yesterday, Yves Guillemot has again spoken about NX. IGN put up more comments from the Ubisoft CEO, most notably of which has him saying that “Nintendo has learned from the Wii U” with its new system.

Guillemot said the following when asked if he views the NX as a step back towards the Wii’s more inclusive approach:

“It’s difficult to answer that [before NX is revealed]. What we see is that Nintendo has learned from the Wii U. All publishers learn from what they do, and then come with something new and more attractive, which I think is the case here.”

Mistakes eh?  Wonder what Nintendo "has learned from the Wii u".  Features, apps, spec/power?  Getting interesting...

Yeah sure they have Ubisoft. Docking stations and detachable controllers really has shown they've changed.

Here's hoping someone showed them what a competent menu system and online interface looks like, among other things.

Nintendo "learns" every generation. I've heard this every single generation since the N64, this time "Nintendo learned their lesson".

Problem with this is twofold

1.) Often times they make completely new mistakes, often times at a rate of 2:1. IE: we fixed cartridges with GameCube! No worries now. So lets make the console purple and not have a Mario game for launch.

2.) They fix mistakes, but the mistakes are fixed like 5-7 years too late so it makes no difference in the end.

Unified e-shop alone would make this a big winner for many.

Do you sense that too?

It's my "NX-is-gonna-be-huge-get-hyped-fam" senses.

A huge mistake people mention in regards to Wii U, was the marketing. The fact that we've seen nothing about NX, and Ubi making this statement, means its strictly about the hardware/architecture/features. Hopefully its all the above.

I can't get over the fact that Ubisoft has talked more about NX than Nintendo has

Nintendo is not going to talk about the NX until the reveal event. And I have a feeling they are waiting for a good idea on the all the software because with the Wii U a lot of their launch window software fell out of the launch window. Though if they want to prevent leaks which are going to probally start soon because people can not talk for so long before they start to buckle under the stress of being asked a million questions about a thing they know about but cannot talk about.
