Interview with Albert Penello of MS' XBox division:

Q: Scorpio obviously will have a more powerful spec, but won't PS4 Pro always be cheaper? Scorpio has a bigger processor, more RAM, potentially a Blu-ray drive - that's can't be cheap. I get the sense it's already being billed as a premium product. Won't you run up against a tough comparison next year when Scorpio is more expensive than PS Pro?

Albert Penello: Well, we haven't announced the price yet, so we'll see.

Q: Sure, but the expectation is PS4 Pro will be cheaper than Scorpio, right?

Albert Penello: It will be an interesting discussion next time we chat!

Sounds like to me this will be competetively priced. 1 year is a big difference in tech costs also. Also sounds like we're getting 12GB of RAM at least. MS bringing the heat. 

More expensive will obviously get them less consoles sold. But it's still too early to judge.

MS could take a small loss on hardware I think. It's not a big deal in the long term, even $20/unit loss can get you a processor that's a definite notch better. 

I wish Sony made something like the Scorpio

If it is say $399 though I wonder if they are eating the cost or its not as powerful as we may have thought.

So if you wanted Sony to make something like the Scorpio and you claimed that the Xbox Scorpio was pointless, would that not imply that you want Sony to make something that was pointless...?

I think it will be 399-450. Silly to price it anything higher

No because Sony have games I want to play and MS dont, well theres a few but theyre coming to PC now anyway

The price isn't getting revealed for another 10-12months, this is just marketing talk to avoid the obvious advantage sony has, the Pro could easily be $349 come next November, maybe even $299 during crazy holiday deals. Do I see Microsoft matching that? Nope. I honestly don't think MS should be concerned with price, give us the PS5's pre-mature competitor.

It will be $399.99 IMO. MS will keep it within $50 of the PS4 Pro.

Regular XBox One will be $199-$249.
