We probably will hear what the story is about. And they did say that the demo removed NPCs and buildings and shit.

About the last part, I read somewhere that Nintendo didn't remove anything. It seems like towns and NPC's are outside of the Great Plateau.

Oh okay. Then it would be really nice to see what the towns looks like.

Yep. It will be very interesting too: you'll have to explore outside of the Great Plateau to find NPC's and learn about the current situation in the kingdoom.

- Ace Attorney 6 : Spirit of Justice

- Shin Megami Tensei IV : Apocalypse ( YEAH ! A real Megaten  game since 2013 )

- Ever Oasis (New IP)

Just between you and me, you should probably stop looking at the 3DS with only your Mario,Zelda,Pokémon in mind. You probably gonna miss the real sh*t right there ;)

As much as I love Phoenix Wright (I was actually replaying Justice for All right before posting this), it's a fairly niche title in the US whose sales apparently don't warrant a retail release in the US.  I liked Shin Megami Tensei IV (although I'm not sure I'll get the new one) but that's even more of a niche franchise.  As far as I know, Ever Oasis is not releasing until 2017.

Even if we ignore the fact that those are niche franchises, 3 major games for the rest of the year meets the criteria for "pretty weak" as far as I'm concerned.

This.

I like Ace Attorney, but let's be real, it's not that big in the West.  Ace Investigations II never got an official English-language release, while Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice are digital download only outside Japan.  If I recall correctly, Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations wasn't going to be released in North America at first because of the previous two title's poor sales, and there was some fan translation thing in progress that was abandoned after Trials and Tribulations was finally confirmed to be coming Westward.

The 3DS' Christmas 2016 lineup in the U.S. is pretty thin outside the big dog of Pokémon.

Great, now I fear the NX reveal isn't in September...

It could still be 2-4 weeks after this direct for the NX as it's just the 1st September, If we haven't heard about it by then i'd be a little worried that we could be looking towards at January reveal as revealing it mid October or November would be a weird time when they will want to be pushing mass pokemon software sales along with the final big holiday push of 3DS hardware and would be quite conflicting imo.

Yeah I know but this doesn't make it seem more likely... or maybe it does actually! This could be Nintendo taking care of literally everything that isn't that isn't NX, getting all that stuff out of the way so they can focus solely on NX from then onwards. I did say this twice before though, but maybe this time I'll finally be right!

Looking forward to it.

And despite being niche, I think you're wrong since we're talking about games that don't need to present themselves ( they still have big fanbase ) since I could qualify them of being top notch easily. We're talking about one of the best JRPG series of all time and the most succesful visual novel series on handheld too.

These aditions are what's making this line-up a strong one for some people and it's definitely enough to justify it being a decent to good line-up for the upcoming season.

That's funny. I heard they had to reprint the trilogy games multiple times cause the demand was stronger than expected + north america had stronger physical sells than Japan.

I really can't think of any way that three "major" releases over the next four months can be considered strong.  Even decent is a huge stretch.  And neither of those two games have big fanbases.  They have dedicated fanbases, but that's not the same thing.

The key to having a strong lineup is diversity.  If you're not into RPGs, then there isn't really a lot to look forward to.  No matter how good a game is, there's going to be quite a lot of people who just aren't into it.  When you have 10 decent-great releases, then no matter who you are, you'll probably find something.  When there's only 3, if you're not into one or two of them, then you've got little to look forward to.

35 minutes to go! Please just show the dolphin pokemon already, that's all I really want out of this!
