A few major retailer have slashed $30 off the Xbox One S that is barely a week old. Amazon and Target are selling at $270.

In an absolutely predictable twist, the Xbox One S first week sales were not representative of a permanent boost in Xbox One sales. Retailers probably jumped the gun and want to thin out their stock a little. Alternatively, this is Microsoft attempting to keep sales up by offering a price drop to entice even more people.

Personally, I have a good gaming PC and a PS4. I'm pretty much set for exclusives and multiplats across the board.

NPD will tell us how things are going. Amazon does have the price unlisted until you put it in your cart, the reason they give is because the price is below MSRP and so they are not allowed to show the price openly. This probably means the price reduction is unapproved, which tends to suggest lower than expected sales at full price.

Xb one is still well on course to be the top home console for August NPD. The big question will be the margin I guess.

PS4 down to 320 as well, so don't get all worried.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
