Did you know this far from release, 3DS & PS4 had only been shown for 1-2 months and XBO hadnt even been shown yet? All 3 of those systems were formally unveiled 6-9 months before release.

Communication pre-reveal doesnt matter, what matters is how well its communicated at the reveal and beyond.

3DS did not launch very well and the PS4 was made in close collaberation with third party developers to really make the console easy to develop to and have the hardware they desired, if nintendo did that with the NX I am sure they will be fine.

Well, Reggie, you have already somewhat failed when you let rumors and speculation run rampant like it has the last 18 months. I just can't believe they thought it was a good idea to say "hey, we got a new console, we'll talk about it next year" and then spend 8 and half months of that year not talking about it. Yes, i am getting annoyed

Especially on some of the negative and confusing topics, Nintendo could have told us a few details withoud unvealing the console or whatever they are "hiding". They could have announced if its portable, that they are partnering with AMD or Nvidia what architecture they use etc...

Lets be honest these small details won't affect sales by releasing them early. It will just get rid of a lot of rumours and prepare people for a realistic view of what they are eventually going to show.

No shit, Reggie. This man always either has his foot in his mouth, or says the most obvious things possible. He's been kinda worthless as a spokesman in that regard for many years now.

This scares me a lot... it makes it sounds like the NX will have a "unique" concept that will need explaining which is exactly the problem! If your concept needs explaining you're shooting yourself in the foot at the starting line.

Traditional gaming consoles don't need explaining, put game in -> play. Wii didn't need explaining since it was very intuitive. The Wii U on the other hand needed a lengthy explanation to detail one mini-game from Nintendo Land, it's no wonder people didn't rush to buy it.

Please don't let the NX be another obscure concept Nintendo!

I guess the mandatory installs on Playstation and Xbox are easy for consumers.  You don't have a gaming console...  You have a computer.

Exactly what the Wii U didn't do. Granted, games came eventually but too late for Wii U.
