Not sure if that's good or not
How does it convert to platinums and trophies?

Its like beating 30 games 100%

Or playing 300 games at 10%....or 3000 and 1%. Seems like a pointless score system.

4 completed X1 games

1 completed 360 game

1514 achievements

As pointless as the leveling system on PS.

Nah. Theres more value to platinums on PSN somehow. Maybe its the presentation and it isn't just an accumulation of points. There's rarity factors and the leveling system takes that into account. Also, A plainum just looks cool and prestigious.

But since there's no difference in getting the original 1000G in a game or a platinum trophy, they objectively have the exact same value.
The leveling systems has the same concept as Gamerscore as well. Gold trophies will help you getting to the next level faster, while a 100G achievement will help you getting the next milestone.
On multiplats there is absolutely no difference between them. Tasks with low Gamerscore will get a bronze trophy and tasks with a high Gamerscore will get you a gold trophy.

To quote you again:

"Or playing 300 games at 10%....or 3000 and 1%. Seems like a pointless score system."

How is that any different to the leveling system? A bronze trophy is worth 15 points and a platinum trophy is worth 180 points.

That means that for every platinum trophy you only need 12 bronze trophies to increase your level by the same amount. Same concept. Playing more games will get you a higher level than going for completion.

I just hit 30,000 a couple of days ago myself. Congrats, Barney!

Not really... I have folks on my friendlist that's almost at a million. If all you have is Xbox and have been playing for a few years, you should have well over 100,000 at least. Although I have had an Xbox Live account since 2010, I only achieved 30,000 gamerpoints a couple of days ago. That's because I game on other platforms as well...and I have a family. :)

Then there's that bunch that has had XBL for over a decade, but hasn't reached even 50,000. They primarily play MP and don't really care about gamerscores and such. I guess it's really depends on the situation of the gamer. Still, 30,000 is cool but definitely not a lot.

I find the achievement system better than the trophy system. I guess it just depends on your own preferences and what system you're used to.

The platinum is like an S rank compared to a system where A is the highest. It goes that bit further to make the A look bad. Plat's are just better looking and have more weight to them. I had a gamerscore of 3000+ or so on x360, might as well have been 3million for all the few games I played on that system. Even having one platinum presents as to mean more than any G-score.

I like how he gave you an out for sounding super biased, and you're just like nahhh Trophies are the top tier lol

The truth is both systems are worth about as much as you want them to be. You can get your GS high by playing a bunch of shitty games with easy chievos, and you can get your platinum trophies doing the same on PS. You can get your score/trophies playing the hardest games in the world. You can get em just doing what you love. Whatever the case may be, without taking a deeper delve into your collection, nobody but you will ever know at glance what those points/trophies say about you. They are, first and foremost, whatever you make of them.

Well i left almost 60k of gamerscore behind before joining the master race (Xbox was my main platform and PS the second, now PC is the first and PS the second). The more you achieve the harder it'll be to leave it :p
