The profit earned is for the company, not per employee. I could develop a game that earns a billion dollars, my salary would be the same. Maybe a bonus if the company wants.

No ...

It's a metric, and one that's valued in certain industries.  Apple makes about $400,000 per employee, Walmart makes about $6000 per employee.  Gabe Newell once said Value makes more per employee than Apple, thought that's been years ago.

Mojang probably peaked that for a time?

Didn't this one game double Nintendo's market cap? Revenue is good, but I'd think that it would have to be a lot higher in order to justify such a large increase in market value.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

"And yes, users are still opening the app about the same amount of time, too — around six times per day, for the most part.
"
Around 6 times per day? for me that could be just trying to get the GPS to actually see where I'm standing or to get out of a bugged battle where the UI has disappeared lol.

Still the average usage is showing like 20 some minutes per day. A minute or 2 more than facebook is open a day.

So even if it takes someone 6 times to get it working right, they are spending a long time with it open when it is.

This is amazing but Niantic and Nintendo need to make sure they keep the fire going.

I think this is the biggest game of the decade. There's nothing even remotely like this ... I was on Santa Monic Pier in Los Angeles and like half the pier was playing the game. I've never ever seen a video game do that.

You can't go anywhere in a populated area and not see people playing it.

All secondhand and new pokémon games have been constantly selling out at my local game retailer. I could only find a copy of Pokémon Rangers: Shadows of Almia.

Keeps slaying!!!!!!

Speculative trading. They weren't driving shares higher because the revenue was great. They were driving the price up because they predicted that N would make very good revenue. Which Nintendo already said they wouldn't be.

Hard to believe they wouldn't be up at the top.  It's easy to dismiss most developers unless they do it over a long period of time but Minecraft didn't slow down for years.

The most consistant performers are usually oil/energy companies, several of which beat Apple pretty easily.
