It has to be Halo, the last two entries notwithstanding. Xbox supported five great or near-great Halo FPS games between 2001-2010. The series has stumbled badly since 343 took over but there's no denying the greatness of the Bungie years.

Moving forward, however, I think Gears could take the crown.

Microsoft doesn't own the IP all the franchises listed are owned by MS even though some of them used to be owned by other companies.

Yet the title says "best xbox exclusive" not "microsoft owned IP".

Would explain why someone suggested Minecraft. That is the least exclusive game possible.

True, but at least its owned by MS.

Gears of War hands down for me. Hopefully the coalition doesn't attempt to fix what isn't broken.

Epic already tried to fix what isn't broken every time they released a new Gears game heh. Anyway, I think there's not much reason to be worried if you liked Gears of War 3 in particular, judging by the beta multiplayer it's very similar to that.

Anwer to the poll is Gears of War, by a country mile :P My favourite franchise ever.

I actually liked how 1-3 all play a little bit different, with 1 being the most "hardcore" I guess, two having the best dlc, and 3 having a more stable build that fixed most of the exploits.

Forza for me as well. Given that some other games in the list have vastly differing types of entries, I don't think Motorsport and Horizon should count as separate entries. Motorsport alone would be worthy of my favorite Xbox franchise, but adding in Horizon just makes it that much more impressive.

EG : Mainline Halo numbered games, but people also include spinoffs/tangential titles.

The use of hardware on the X1 also seems way more impressive to me with FM6/FH2 than what we've seen from X1 Gears/Halo. Turn 10 are exceptional devs. And that track record has been stellar all the way from FM1 on OG Xbox through the 360 era as well.

I actually think Halo 4 can stand up to Bungie's best, but then I'm a campaign kind of guy. ;)

Forza games should fall in the same IP, but they are very different experiences. The mainline series and Horizon combined just make it an even better IP.

Halo is a bad example because Halo games are pretty much all linear shooters with a big PvP focus.

They have very different gameplay and each have numbered sequels so I think its fair to consider them as separate franchises.

Forza Motorsport is good but I think GT6 is better than any Forza game on 360, don't have an XB1, but I think Forza Horizon is the best racing game that I've ever played, and I've just played the first one.

Maybe if you don't own any of the DLC for FM4 I can see GT6 maybe being slightly better but even then that is somewhat of a strech since GT6 has way too many duplicate and standard cars.  Not to mention that besides the standard cars there are a lot of other old assets used in GT6 some of the tracks are just slightly enhanced PS2 versions of the same track.  None of the assets used in FM4 are from the first game on the original X-Box.

They should be counted as two seperate IP's.  They are made by two different studios Turn 10 and Playground Games and are two different game one is track based more sim the other is open world more arcade.

What exclusive franchise? Everything is on pc now... jk :P

Definitely Halo followed by Forza Horizon. I would pick Banjo but Rare haven't made a great game for Xbox and I'm not sure if they ever will.
