Unless we are attacked by aliens, No we should not have a one world government. A One world government is not sustainable as effects of political corruption will be be devastating. I could imagine it could be good short term, but there will be more issues long term. People like their privacy.

The ONLY future solution is one where computers rule our daily lives and laws. They are impartial and not swayed by emotion or status. A system that is 100% transparent and incorruptible. That is the only way humanity will ever progress!!

I agree but we might as well be millenia away from creating such a system that has no backdoors, no faults, no chance of subjectivity. As I said, after Stuxnet, that future may as well be dead. There is no possibilty of an uncorruptable system and no solution for a uncrossable air gap.

Does it matter how far away it is? As long as we get there eventually then humanity has a chance. Every step we take brings us closer to that uncorruptable possibility.

"It always seems impossible until its done" - Some guy who achieved stuff that seemed impossible when he first started.

Eventually yes I think we will evolve to the point where we will live in a Star Trek-ish world and emphasis of humanity will be to leave this planet and colonize other areas of our solar system. But that's still a ways off.

Though if you want to get all technical and shit about it ...

We have effectively one global economy and since money = power, then in effect a unified "world order" or whatever the fuck bogeyman term you want to give to it has already happened.

That and the internet allowing for the globe to be connected 24/7. So basically yeah, the victory of capitalism as the defacto global economic system that interconnects everything by it's nature and the advancement of our own technology (the development of the computer chip, smart phone, and internet) have for all intents and purposes already brought this to pass.

The world of the 1980s even doesn't exist anymore.

Against.

I want an island city, or a piece of land where there is total freedom, with all the good things and nastiness of the world in 1 place, with 0 control. A blend of the wild west and a gambling paradise like Las Vegas or Macau. Many of the illegal activities made legal, drugs accepted. Tax heaven, money laundering etc. There would even be cannibalism, if both parties consent, and a fee paid.

For. Always a globalist.

A world where we can stop being "proud" of being born within some arbitrary borders and not other equally arbitrary borders... that doesn't sound bad.

He hasn't said that though, has he?

He has. He ranted a few times about the western media ignoring the coming "Doom" and eventual war. Mainly thrown toward the media for ignoring global events that he says will lead to war.

Oh. Has this been in the last years or it was a period in the past?

Do you remember what kind of events he warned about?

"We know year by year what's going to happen, and they know that we know. It's only you that they tell tall tales to, and you buy it, and spread it to the citizens of your countries. You people in turn do not feel a sense of the impending danger - this is what worries me. How do you not understand that the world is being pulled in an irreversible direction? While they pretend that nothing is going on. I don't know how to get through to you anymore."

Okay so it's recent but that was really vague and cryptic lol

Very interesting though. I hope he is right because I want action and the world to burn.

That's the only direct quote I found but I found an article that desribes what he was supposedly saying.

"Putin railed against the journalists for their "tall tales" in blindly repeating lies and misinformation provided to them by the United States on its anti-ballistic missile systems being constructed in Eastern Europe. He pointed out that since the Iran nuclear deal, the claim the system is to protect against Iranian missiles has been exposed as a lie.

The journalists were informed that within a few years, Russia predicted the US would be able to extend the range of the system to 1000 km. At that point, Russia's nuclear potential, and thus the nuclear balance between the US and Russia, would be placed in jeopardy.

Putin completely lost patience with the journalists, berating them for lazily helping to accelerate a nuclear confrontation by repeating US propaganda. He virtually pleaded with the western media, for the sake of the world, to change their line:"

A one world government is impossible, cultures are just too different around the world for it to ever be viable.

Edit: I'll avoid the conspiracy theories. Also, maybe a one world government is possible but it would take hundreds if not thousands of years to implement.

Edit 2: To answer your poll, I'm against it.
