It's definitely going to help when the next annual investors meeting happens next year. Hopefully NX consoles will be flying off shelves too, but who knows.

Because I am saying that despite not liking pokemon, I do really like this app. The app was free to download. |
But the app is Pokemon, a massively stripped and dumbed down version of it, but it's still Pokemon. The app is also free to play.
When you say profits, are you talking about hardware or hardware + software? Because I'm pretty sure that Nintendo rakes in big piles of dough with their games.
I think for better or worse, Pokemon Go is going to be Nintendo's biggest piece of hit mainstream software in a long, long time, probably since the Wii/DS era (Wii Sports, Brain Training, etc.).
I doubted it, but I am seeing all sorts of friends that rarely game jumping on this game. No idea how long it will last, but right now it is the talk of gaming in my social circles across lines I've never seen before.

Money is money. Sony's insurance division has largely carried them for the last 8 years, you think they'd give back that money?

.... You realize Nintendo used to run love hotels? Why would they be ashamed of making people go out for a walk and making a few bucks?

I think he meant ashamed because the Wii U would be doing so poorly that a single mobile app could outdo everything on the Wii U. |
The Kim Kardashian mobile game makes many millions of dollars every month. Clash of Clans dev was sold for billions. console profit margins are already razor thin. There'd be no shame whatsoever if Pokemon Go outsells Wii U or any other console.
