Just browsed neogaf a little.. the thread they have about zelda winning was wastly positive actually only some negatives... some from well known usenames on this site who often troll and downplay Nintendos achievements.

Is that really surprising? it's not just Nintendo's achievements.

You should check the twitter account of some VGC users to see how miserable their lives really are.
