What? Where is that coming from? 1080p/60fps standard with all the next gen bells and whistles is what I'm expecting, as well as upscaling games to 4K and perhaps some native 4K games.

But it does the exact same thing a $349 system can do and nothing more than updated media playback. Is it worth another $600 to get the new system when it doesn't do anything new? I don't think it is.

Both Microsoft and Sony stated that they are making those consoles for a "Hardcore" fanbase and that they will make profit from each unit, they also stated that all the previous consoles will be able to play Scorpio and Neo's games, they know that Nintendo will not try to push power and this power  update can make the Generation last a little longer before Xbox 2 and PS5.

When a company state that they wil sell for "Hardcores" don't expect a popular price.

$599? Calling bullshit.

I'm going with someone I saw say that Sony is leaking these fake rumors so that when it's revealed for like $400-$500, people will be happy.

If it cost 600,00 I hope they make it a very good improvement.

OsirisBlack, a well-known insider on Neogaf, has leaked a ton of interesting new details about PlayStation 4 Neo (also known as PS4K). According to the OsirisBlack, this PlayStation Neo information comes straight from the reliable developer source. So without further ado, here are all the information OsirisBlack shared by Sony's next big thing in the gaming market.

PlayStation 4K

PlayStation Neo (PS4K) GPU is going to be twice (2X) as powerful as the Standard PlayStation 4 and much faster. The source did not reveal exactly how fast the GPU is going to be, but it was confirmed that it will be running at a higher clock speed while being much smaller than the original.

About the price, the source revealed that PlayStation Neo is currently priced at $399, however, this might go up by a $100 more (to $499) because Sony is considering adding a better CPU which would raise the price. However, the source added that they have been guaranteed that the price of PS4 Neo will be no higher than $499. Furthermore, there will not be any trade-in program for current PlayStation 4 owners at the time of PlayStation Neo launch, but this could change in future.

Coming to the specs, in a thread on Neogaf, OsirisBlack revealed PlayStation Neo will offer 5.5 teraflops performance and will be priced $599 (this figure was also quoted by the INSIDER we talked a few weeks ago), will have a 4K Blu-Ray player and will upscale games that are not natively 4K.

Additionally, OsirisBlack revealed that few lucky developers have already received PlayStation 4K Dev Kits and they are making games that will directly target and take advantage of the higher specifications of the PS4K.

On the topic of performance upgrades for current games when played on PS4K, the source made it clear that there will not be any performance upgrades for current PS4 games by being played on PS4K. Any performance benefits to current (and old PS4 games) for PS4K will arrive via Patch Per Game and Per Developer. When asked if this was going to happen the response was

"Its a possibility but doubtful with the exception of a handful of games."

OsirisBlack went on to list TWO GAMES that are already in development for PlayStation 4K: "Capcom's Deep Down (a big surprise for those who thinks this game is already dead) and GOW4 (this is the exact term written on the sheet, and the only assumption that comes to mind if God of War 4)"

There were more games on the list but these are the ones that stood out the most, according to OsirisBlack.

The PS5 Exists.

$600 is about where I expected an "enthusiast" version of PS4 to land. This isn't a standard console, it doesn't *need* to sell at a blistering pace to build a userbase and garner more support from 3rd parties.

I also expect this price to drop at least $50 by the time MS launches their own beast.

Good, the bigger the upgrade the better.

Is this from an article, or are you just posting this?

Also...the bold...what the fuck?

This is all starting to sound like BS.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Makes a lot of sense.
