I have played probably 100's of games over the last decade, not enough for you? :O |
Excuse me, I should have specified: I guess you haven't played enough games with great bosses xD
C'mon, I'm just kidding. Everyone can think whathever the heck they want. To you GOW III bosses are great. To me.... they're pretty standard boss fights.

Have played plenty of RPGs, Action, Adventure and Platformer games, and that changes nothing. And of course what happen with Hades matter in this topic, you are saying it's lame and uninspired, I'm pointing to you how it wasn't lame and uninspired at all, again, you may have not liked it, but it's really not what you claim it to be, and that's a widely shared sentiment, as GoW 3 reception and praising was stellar. |
It doesn't matter because I'm talking about the battles, not the story or the background.
And to me, Hades felt like a big standard boss monster. If it wasn't for some cool visual effects and the fact that you know who he was, it could have been a mid-boss rather than a full boss. Nothing really special about it. And I'm not wrong, because my feelings are genuine. I don't care about you or anybody who thinks otherwise: to me (TO ME, I'M NOT TALKING FOR EVERYONE) GOW 3 bosses were LAAAAAAAMEEEEE AND UNINSPIIIIIIIRED. And that's pretty much it. You enjoyed them? You think they are an example to follow when it comes to boss design? Congratulations, good for you. But I don't agree at all.

That's pretty much how I replyed to your original post, outside of the "congratulations, good for you" unnecessary part. |
Hmm... No, you didn' t say anything remotely similar in your first reply. You were the one that could not stand that someone called something bad to a game you liked.
And it is lame and uninspired to me. There is no official meter to tell if something is inspired or not. To me its not, and I'm damn right.
And if you'll excuse me, i have to slepp, i work tomorrow morning.
3 is absolutely insane. Still looks amazing to this day.
2 a close 2nd.

There is the first reply, I don't need to hide anything, that's exactly what happened, before you started putting me and other people into a "you haven't played other games" box to try to keep your point, which you don't need to, as your opinion is your opinion, nothing more, nothing less. |
It's funny when people try to use a quote to prove something... and that quote proves the exact oposite. I said my opinion, and then you, without saying anything about my right to have one, went rambling about how I was wrong and GOW III was not uninspired and lame.
I'm not saying that my opinion is right. I'm saying that my opinion is right to me. It's different. Also, you were the one that kept repeting that I was wrong with my opinion about bosses in GOW 3. You said that I may not like the game, but I couldn't say that it was unisnpired. Yes, I can.
I had enough of this. I'm out.

I'd go with this. Maybe it was just the spectacle of 3. Granted I recently finished GoS and was pleasantly surprised. It's a fantastic game. |
Spectacle played a part for me as well, but it really was just the boss fights and puzzles were the best of the series and boss fights for gaming in general, and the secondary weapons were even better than the blades. In terms of story though its one of the weakest God of War game.
GoW1, I remember when I first time play it on PS2, there was nothing similar on market, it was very impressive.
