"back then" being 2008 and 2013 which are not that long ago and well after the "all video game voice work is just aweful" stage. Also, that doesn't change the fact that THOSE are awful, Zelda is not. And I could find other examples if you wish. But the point is, Zelda's may not be exceptional but it is perfectly adequate.

Sooo true. This is what I was afraid of when the whole "Zelda will have VA" stuff showed up. But people were like, nahh bro, you worry too much, its gonna be zomg quality Voice Acting...
It made me cringe so hard that it sounded like a bad TV commercial... I hope there is a way to mute the voices and play it like a traditional Zelda game

I'm willing to bet 99% of this game won't have VA, so a small hurdle either way (whether you like the voice or not).
The voice actress sounded like she needed a glass of water.
She said like 7 words... I like that it has some voice acting. Getting tired of the weird noises NPCs make when they talk.

For me the trailer in general elicted very similar feels as the first trailer for star wars VII did back when I first watched it.
I think its partly because of the minimalist music is similar.
The last piano chords actually sound like the final sounds of the Rogue One Trailer now that I think about it!
I guess its also the same feels as with Star Wars VII:
A Grand Classic is returning in all its glory and its going to be highly awesome!
btw: I have no problem with the voice. I guess it could be better somehow, but apart from that I like it, probably because I really hoped for more Voice Acting. It did wonders for Kid Icarus Uprising, and as long as they keep Link quiet it should work well.

The fact is that anime requires immaculate voice work to sound natural, so this guy definitely knows his stuff. Hear the voice of reason people.
