There is indeed a WAIT mode :)
The menu also shows difficulty options too.

I feel like they should have shown this as a primary game function in one of their conferences throughout the years.

That is a pretty cool feature, I must say
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
Now that is interesting. It works almost like a turned based combat. Pause the action. Give a direct commands to the party members, execute. Excellent addition.
Final Fantasy XV is a classic game of the series now!
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
This topic should be bumped up to hell, or heaven or the void. This is a complete game changer..but damn, SE really should have shown this earlier. I think reviewers are going to shine up to this game rather warmly now. The game looks like it plays so smooth now without wasted actions (due to better thought out planning obviously). The wait mode doesn't last forever either so you can't just sit there all day, but there looks to be ample enough time.
Still, well done SE.

I think it should also be mentioned that if there are any targeting changing issues in real time combat, this will remedy the problem greatly.
