I feel I should make this point:

Just because some devs have said they haven't had issues with PS4 VR doesn't mean that all games will run smoothly. Some devs didn't have issues hitting 60fps with normal PS4 games, but that didn't stop certain other games from struggling to even hit 30fps

We'll that just means that there's a problem with the devs and not the hardware.

The difference being Sony doesn't stop you releasing games which fall below 60 normally, however they've been very clear that devs using PSVR must hit 60fps otherwise the game likely wont be certified.

Don't ruin the moment

Currently Playing: Rocket League (PC/PS4), Dead Cells (PC)

LordyPlays on YouTube

I remember the scaremongering when the PS4 came out... overheating issues and all that...

It's not like Sony have hidden these things away... will they be the best looking VR games around, no, but will they be acceptable to what people are wanting... I think so.

The story being sold was that VR didn't work on PS4 well at all and that in needed Neo.  This was a blanket statment.  Sure there will be individuals who struggle but they are the exception apparentlyand not the rule.  Why negativity is always endorsed as being more valid that positivity is beyond me.

Breaking news, developers hyping up their products. Also, fire is hot, water is wet. I mean, what are they supposed to say? "Yeah, VR on the PS4 doesn't look very good. Probably shouldn't buy our games :( "

Not to poo on PSVR, but what I have seen looks extremely underwhelming. And the rumors of a PS4K certainly doesn't help put out this fire. If PSVR were fine on PS4 then Sony wouldn't need a PS4K.

Then again it's pretty much impossible to ever debunk this rumor. For some, PSVR will be unimpressive on a PS4. For others, it will be fine. It just comes down to opinion.

"Likely" being a keyword.

Doom and gloom articles spread like wildfire because the internet consists 80% of empty websites parroting clickbait, and nothing is more clickable than a "oh shit, something's gonna blow up in somebody's face" rumor-based articles.

Like clockwork.

Reading the link, seems like you can dip below 60 and still get certified. Either way you can always take the visuals down peg after peg until you hit the framerate. This could be what the insider meant by awful. The concessions you have to make in order to hit requirements.
