The trailer is terrible. Went full treating customers like idiots.

The huge numbers are ugly, they should be removed.

Aside from that, critics of the graphics are unwarranted. This is a kickstarter game.

Being Indie or Kickstarter based does not absolve them of responsibility to pursue a style they can achieve and do it well.  Shovel Knight, Freedom Planet, Fast Racing Neo, Ori and the Blind Forest, all independently developed, all look great and execute their style wonderfully.  Dust: An Elysian Tale is a solo developed game.  ONE GUY.  This indie project with millions behind it and headed by someone with decades of experience has no excuse.

And yeah, the trailer was absolutely abysmal.  Better if you muted it though.

Yeah, thats a design choice. You can say the developer is bad if you want. But to expect gorgeous graphics from an indie game is to set yourself up for disappointment imo.

The developers are not bad, they just used much of the money on other projects I think.

Maybe the dev should be disappointed in themselves, because the game sure as hell has not looked good at any stage of development.

The artwork for the kickstarter page looked really good

Then it all went to shit

I don't get it. The developer itself wasn't even aware a trailer was gonna be released? Isn't there any communication between multiple studios?

Maybe it's just damage controll or he's really unaware, who knows.

Nintendo Switch FC: SW-6340-7643-4233 aka Renji

Steam: Lee Roid

I don't care what you say, still gonna buy and enjoy it.

This trailer carries a deep meaning and message though.

It says: "Hahahah! Why would we put any effort into this game? You suckers already overpaid us a long time ago. Why would we waste all this money now?"

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Yeah thats the thing. Didnt it start like a 1mil project? I don't think having the extra money really changed the project much. Those are the risks of kickstarter i suppose.

It was even lower than 1mil I think.
