Microsoft's software output?

Good, I'm not complaining. 47 20.35%

Not bad, but they can do better. 50 21.65%

Bad, I'm not happy. 134 58.01%

Total:231

Wii U and Xbox One are basically in the same situation when it comes to first party games.

The only difference is that the X1 actually has Multiplat games, Thank God to that.

BUT, as a PS4 owner myself (this would work the same way for PC owners), i only play on my X1 for its exclusives. Which sadly, i had to learn the hard way that they are few and faaaar between. Again, just like the Wii U. Huuuuuuuge Exclusive droughts.

So if you ask me today, of course im not happy with the console. I just barely play it as it is and i already played the exclusives that interested me.

I refuse to buy an inferior version of a Multiplat for the X1 if i have a PS4. It would be silly of me to Pity Buy a multiplat just to use the console and justify my investment.

I will wait because...what else? But if the only relevant exclusive of this year that remains is Gears4, i will sell my X1 in order to buy the PS4 NEO.

What about Cuphead, Sea of thieves, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2?
Quantum Break just released last month, so did the definitive edition for ori.

What should they announce 20 days before E3 starts?

Tail thread is fail.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Companies go through periods like this. Sony had it last year, Nintendo has stretches with not much on the WiiU.

They've had Quantum Break, Ori, Cobalt, and a new Killer Instinct already this year. Still got lots of big games coming this year.

I'm happy MS is doing a fan service like backwards compatibility that doesn't require you to pay to stream your already owned games over the Internet, or rebuy them digitally in order to be able to play them. Not to mention, how much effort do you really thing it takes for people to make this happen? I would imagine there is literally 0 affect on game development.

E3 is only a few weeks away.

First of all, you are lying about Sony. They didnt "had it" last year.

Actually, Xbox One has just Quantum Break for this year. If you want to count a shitty XBL game as Cobalt or Ori, a game from last year, or even a Killer Instinct DLC, i would say that you are just trying hard to include every List Filler to hide the fact that the first half of this year has been disastrous.

Do i have to remind you that Quantum Break was underwhelmingly received by the press and also flopped sales wise?

BC is cool, but to say that someone is fine because they can battle the droughts with Xbox 360 games is laughable at best.

And finally, so what if E3 is weeks away?

Do you think that they are going to announce new games AND release them this year?

This years Line-Up is already planned, and no matter what they reveal at E3, the list wont change.

Again, this thread isn't about games that they announced which will come out in the future. It is about their output in 2016 until now. And please don't tell me that a re-release of a 2015 game (Ori) and an add-on of a 2013 game (Killer Instinct) is worth mentioning.

Ok, Sony launched 3 big first/second party games de first half of 2015, then what were the big first party games the second half? That is what he's refering.

MS have only launched QB (I'm not going to include KI BUT the season 3 is way more than a simple DLC) in the first half, but they have Cuphead, Crackdown Halo Wars 2, GoW, and Recore. You think some of that games may be delayed (like Uncharted past year) well, Recore, or Halo Wars 2 MAY be delayed, and maybe not. We will know probably on E3, this is why he's saying that E3 is near.

If this year Xbox One line up ends being QB, GoW, Crackdown, Cuphead, Recore, Sea of thieves and Halo Wars 2, it doesn't seem a bad exclusive list at all.

Wow, I had no idea the situation was that bad. Really haven't been following video game news in the past few months.
This doesn't sound good for X1 owners and the future of Xbox.

Some moving goalposts around here. When Sony was in a drought, no amount of third party and indie games mattered. Now they do supposedly.

MS first party output has generally been lacking, and seems to be getting worse. Hopefully they can have a good holiday, with Halo Wars 2, Crackdown 3 and FH3, but once again the first three quarters of the year are poor. Don't see Sea of Thieves making this year.

It was you who explicitely named upcoming titles so I don't know why you expect others to not mention them. Like Celador says, moving goalposts. And as I said, yes, a good start for a decent thread. It shows

Well, that double standar is not one sided, I don't  know how many exclusive lists of PS4 i've seen plenty of only digital, or japanese third party (with some without a release date in west) I've seen.

In my opinion, indie, digital, japanese nicho games, whatever, all are games and count. If i'm in a good day even remasters count.

Tim and The Princes...

Yeah, man, I'm worried too. I love, love backwards compatability - so much in fact I wish Sony would take a page from Microsoft's playbook - but things are bad on the software front. Phil Spencer seems like a cool guy, but at this point I think he's just paying Xbox owners lip service. We've heard a lot of talk about building up studios and not relying on timed exclusives, but that's still the reality in which we live.

Xbox offers a lot of third party content, yes, but since that content is usually available on PC, PS4, and in some cases WiiU, why invest in the Xbox ecosystem? First party studios are either ghosts of their former selves (Rare), closed entirely (Lionhead), or turning out sub-par experiences (343).

I'm super excited for Cuphead, ReCore, Halo Wars 2, Gears of War 4, and Scalebound. But those games are either timed exclusives, delayed, or complete mysteries.
