The grass starter looks weird

Nothing really eye catching, since it looks a lot like XY but is still on the same hardware so is to be expected

So I just got around to watching the trailer, and I must say, I am in love with how the game looks! I really like how it is in Hawaii, and I really love the look of the moon legendary! I am torn between which starter to choose though. Popplio has a charm that is so adorable and I usually choose water for my starter, but Rowlet just looks so cute!

I ALWAYS picked the water type starter since gen1. But my favorite animal are owls (and it was long before liking owls was cool), and one of my favorite pokemon is Noctowl. I was hoping for a mega evolution of Noctowl that could finaly make him competitive, but now they give us a owl starter! Maybe this will convince me of finaly breaking my tradition and pick the grass type. Altho it will depend on the final evolutions, but if Rowlet's look half as good as Noctowl but with the added grasse type... Yes plz!!!

I like Popplio, looks slightly to silly imo, but he is super cute, Litten looks dull imo. But who knows what I'll think if them once I see their final evolution. I remembered I hated Froakie at first... Then they revealed Greninja lol.

As for the legendaries, love them both. The Sun pokémon is clearly a fire type, with perhaps a second type. My only problem with the Moon legendary is that I would guess his type will be Dark/Flying, and we just got one with Yveltall last gen, so that would be disapointing imo. Will probably pick up Moon.

Now I just hope they will show us why we should be excited for this game as a 20th aniversary game. It does look great, but they need to give us reasons on why this will be a celebration of 20years of pokémon.

Why is none of my starters a cute instant classic? Rowlet is the best design, if you ask me, but I'm not on fire about any of these. They're ok.

That's because starter Pokémon in general are all lame. Stop using them. They are not special. They're just training wheels for new trainers who don't know how to use Pokémon types yet. You're literally complaining that they don't make cool looking swimming floaties anymore. You're an Olympic gold-medalist, dude. Stop using floaties.

The last time grass was the popular choice (snivy) it turned out to be not so good so.... :P

Tbh I would have gone with an Water bear than water dog =P.
