Wait did someone in this thread say Zune and Windows Phone was a moderate success?

Alright well getting back on topic, sort of.  Zune and Windows Phone have always been tiny.  Kinect was a moderate success at one time, and calling it that is totally fair.  Microsoft just tried to put it into everything, and ultimately pushed the platform too hard, as secondary peripherals have rarely been a game changer.  Still, we have to give this great company some props for being daring enough to take a risk in an age where everyone seems to go for the easy and small $$$$$ .

Kinect Party was the shit though.

No there is no insult intended, we're all wanting to be reasonable adults, and this discussion is great bc talking it out always helps us find the truth.  And I'm always going to be both very polite and assertive on here.

Also, kinect was a lot of fun, it was just that Microsoft couldn't make it big enough to justify the expense of the product so they made a decision on that, probably the right one.

I was just saying ouch about the video. I watched the whole thing and it did make me cringe. I had lots of fun with kinect. Although I'm glad it's gone.

On the matter of Zune, I really loved that music platform. I subscribed to Zune on my xbox and loved controlling it with my voice and gestures. It really worked as if it was designed for it. I then bought a Kin phone by Microsoft and that thing was some piece of work. I can't even describe it. It wasn't a windows phone so it was not that type of premium fancy smartphone. But omg was this thing bad ass for playing zune and getting free internet. Camera was better than my droid too. Saved me money and Zune was soooo much better than any music platform available. It had a dj mode where the artist you listened to had a bunch of similar artists around it with album cover art user interface. You select one of the similar artist's album art and it would take you down a rabbit hole of awesomeness. Used it on windows 7 as well. Too bad they removed that feature. Those were really good times for me ;)

I miss don mattric. He provided some of the best comedy e3 press conferences ever. He might have destroyed the Xbox brand, but at least he gave us some good laughs. lol
