Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Forecasts Only 800k Wii Us for Current Fiscal Year

Is the question not really... how many units are still left to sell?

Is there much point to push big software for a console, when the supply is already limited? Those 800 K would likely be the last batch ever.

Nintendo will want to forgot the Wii U as quickly as possible at this point. Irony is that they can't do it in 2016.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I'll literally laugh out loud if they decide to move Color Splash to the NX too (like Super Paper Mario).

My suggestion is to get a hold of wii u games you want now, and to pre-order tokyo mirage sessions If you're interested in it.

If there's no more hardware being made software will likely be hard to find as well.

This pretty much also likely seals it that the Wii U will finish its life cycle with about 13 million sold LTD, way short of even the GameCube.

Gamecube sold better but it was also really cheap. It hit $99 well before a new console was even being discussed.

Wii U is trying to compete at a price too close to its competitors.

Did Nintendo also release up to date shipment data for Wii U/3DS? As well as profit data?

Yes it's in their fiscal results.

Looks like it won't beat the Vita after all.

All things considered, Sony ended up doing a better job at sustaining the Vita than Nintendo appears to have done with the WiiU.

What's the last notable game Sony released for the Vita?

Nintendo tried with Wii U, no one else did.

Any Words from sony on how much the Vita has sold? And how much they are expecting to be sold?

12.8 million WiiUs shipped/sold according to Nintendo, 12.99 million WiiUs sold through according to VGC... so -200k WiiU on shelves worldwide?

58.85 million 3DSs shipped/sold according to Nintendo, 59.11 million 3DSs sold through according to VGC... so -260k 3DS on shelves worldwide?

What I don't get is this statement:

Nintendo CEO: NX won't simply replace 3DS and WiiU

Okay, it might just say that you can use the WiiU gamepad on NX and connect with your 3DS. But it's still weird to make such a statement when you're about to fully abandon a system software-wise...
