Some games wish they "only" had a 6 fps drop...

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

It's lead by Miyamoto. I'd have thought he'd but a stop to that.

Not gonna happen.

That's pretty obvious now.

Consider the console is rendering to two screens.

Good to hear them giving praise to how enjoyable the game is in terms of gameplay in addition to its performance. Definitely looking forward to picking this up in a couple weeks.

I figured that this would be a fairly demanding game just because of the second screen.

If you consider performance strictly from a pixel-pushing point of view:

Star Fox Zero

(854x480) + (1280 x 720) = 1,331,520  Total pixels per frame

For comparison, a 900p game would have:

(1600 x 900) = 1,440,000 Total pixels per frame.

We have to remember that the Wii U is a full generation behind the XOne and PS4 in power and so getting anything close to 900p to run on its hardware would require huge sacrifices.  I am personally impressed that Platinum managed to get the graphics to look as good as they do in Star Fox Zero.

go lie somewhere else.

Ha! What? Really? He's not lying. On topic Star Fox Zero looks as good as I hoped it would be. I never got the negativity that surrounded the original trailer. Almost hate to bring it up, but I'm very curious to see how it will perform on review wise.

- "If you have the heart of a true winner, you can always get more pissed off than some other asshole."

So it's the smoothest running game Platinum have ever made then. :P

(I mean, they make fantastic games, but they can't stabilize a framerate to save their lives)

Obviously a locked framerate would be preferable, but given that even when it dips it remains well north of 30fps, I doubt it will significantly detract from the experience. I certainly never found it problematic in Bayonetta 1 or 2.

Encouraging to hear Digital Foundry were so impressed with the control scheme.

Obviously a locked framerate would be preferable, but given that it seems to hold 60fps for the majority of play, and that drops when they occur are still well north of 30fps, I doubt it will significantly detract from the experience.

You aren't lying, lol.

Not too bad, given that both screens are trying to run at 60fps
