Forums - Gaming Discussion - Digital Foundry vs Final Fantasy XV Platinum demo

- Dynamic resolution on both consoles.

- PS4 runs at 900p most of the time, 1080p in some less-demanding scenes, and 1568x882 at lowest.

- X1 runs at 792p most of the time, 1568x882 at best, and 1360x768 at lowest.

- Both have significant drops below 30fps, with X1 suffering more heavily, and both consoles hitting around 15fps during the demo's final boss.

Hopefully some very extensive optimization takes place before its release.

Unacceptable garbage that's what I would call it. It has been development for 10 freaking years and framerate drops to 15 fps is downright terrible.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I really hope that this changes before release. Especially the frame rate drops. I also really disliked some really blurry scenes in the demo. Let's hope for the best :/

The game needs a delay really, because august and september are reserved for production and bug fixes. Which leaves us 3 months for optimalisation, which I think is way too short considering the challenges that lay ahead for a stable framerate.

The demo is downright sloppy. If you look at the landscape in the water city, its all low poly and textures. This isn't how you give a good impression of your game square...

They should have just released episode duscae. This demo is a disaster. They should totally remove it. It's gonna cost them alot of sales.

3 months from now. But what tells you that the process hasn't already started a while ago?

Episode Duscae is much more fleshed out than the "Platinum Demo" and it runs much better, even if it does have some small issues. So I don't think anyone should take the performance of the new demo at face value. I'm confident things will get ironed out before release.

It still is the most recent demo so it should represent the latest build. Why would they use an older build for a new demo. For all we know the latest build runs like this the entire time and that's not remotely impressive. Well we shall see September the 30th, but I think the performance off this game might not be a smooth 30fps experience which should be the bare minimum.

I know the best fix for this problem. It's PC, yay!!!

Jesus Christ. Gamers and their exaggerations. It's like some people's scale goes: amazing, great, shit. There's decent, mediocre, ok, acceptable, could be better, etc. But no!!! If it ain't perfect it's garbage.

No one is saying its garbage. But it is definitely concerning.
