I haven't seen the movie yet. I'm going to see it on Tuesday. I've been listening to a lot of reviews of it. The opinions about it vary but the overall consensus is that the actors were very good in their roles and the action was great but they tried to put way too much into a single movie and it would have been better off as two movies.

What I'm getting from all this is that DC was pressured by Marvel's success and felt they needed to catch up. The thing is they shouldn't have done that. They should have bitten the bullet and accepted the fact that they had almost 20 years to do something like this and they didn't do it sooner. When you look at The Avengers, that movie didn't have much of a story to it at all. It mostly everybody waiting for the climax. The thing is it didn't need much of a story. Most of the characters' stories were told in previous movies. So it was able to focus on the on-screen chemistry of a bunch characters who have already been established. DC should have put out all the individual superhero movies first. Since they didn't, I think they probably did the best they could with what they had.

That being said, I'm giving the movie a chance and it is sounding more like the reviews were probably way too harsh.

hated the trailers, hate the concept (played it already in "Injustice"), so I won't bother with this one, but I hope you guys have/had a good time with the movie

Ouch. There is no excuse for this to have failed to surpass Jurassic World's opening haul. It had two of the most iconic characters in fiction locking horns in the most hyped battle of all time. Given BvS 29-and-falling rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Civil War could be poised to cut off its legs and crush it. DC shouldn't have tried to rush JL out the door; this film could have been the magnum opus for the superhero genre.

*sigh* Why am I not surprised? After seeing Furious 7 make it into the top 5 grossing movies of all time at one point, it's become abundantly clear that people will gladly pay $10-$15 to see anything these days.

I've already watched RedLetterMedia's breakdown of the film, which pretty much confirmed everything I figured this movie would be... one big loud disjointed mess, with the "main event" of Batman and Superman fighting each other lasting all of 5 minutes before they become BFFs because their moms share the same name.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Also smashed  the record for the month of March/US dethroning Harry Potter with BVS DoJ bringing in 171 Million in the USA alone. It was a great movie got a standing ovation at my theater.

On RT the critics are Marvel fanboys they even say you are better off waiting for the next Marvel movie in their critic post. lol. That said, the audience on RT has it ay 75 but idc if it was 0 on both because I like that I like and am old enough to not be influenced by some1 else's opinion Mine is the only 1 that counts to me.

I hope they use that money to make a better film next time.

Reeves is dead so any hope for a good Superman movie is lost... sadly.

Only nostalgy can make you think Reeves was a good Superman, for this era it was good, but when you look at it now, his acting was so bad. ( plus his physic and suit were horrible)

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

I haven't seen it yet, keeping my expectations as low as possible, given the reviews, as this might give me a better chance of enjoying it. Though one thing I hate in these sort of movies is when they replace good story telling and plot with just action and special effects and some of the reviews make me concerned for this.

It's 40min longer. It would be very hard to cross the 200mill mark.

There is not much chance for CW to cross it either, its also 2:30 length
