On one hand, Luigi Mansion is the kind of game (with closed and not so big environments) where something like this would be possible without investing insame amounts of money. And it would also be a good game for AR, with ghosts comings from the walls, couch or even the TV.

On the other hand it's just another rumor with no ground, and Pikmin would also be a good game for that kind of graphics showcase (and we know that Pikmin 4 is in development).

In the end, what I don't like about this rumor and makes me believe it's fake, is that Nintendo needs something bigger than Luigi Mansion or Pikmin during the launch of NX.

My favorite console of all time launched (if memory serves me correct) with Luigi's Mansion. Gamecube baby!

This seems really conflicting with Geno's last batch of so called "leaks". He does mention the haptic feed back again. But he's now making it sound like the NX hardware is powerful, something like that likely won't be achieved on specs closer to Xbox One, as he last claimed. 900p could be used with high specs to juice a little more into the polycount and frame rate but..... yeah. So NintenDO what Sony and Microsoft don't? Ugh... this hardware spec stuff is so back and forth. On one hand it's "super powerful" and on the other it's just "average with the current consoles". Where's the consistency? I'd be damn surprised if it's the handheld that's the power of the Xbox One.... then again... AMD's APU chips sets have taken a leap since the PS4 and XBO came out.

The difference is that Microsoft and Sony make realistic looking games, where it is much harder to make it look graphically impressive, and Nintendo makes them based on cartoony/Pixar like designs, much simpliar and easier to make look amazing. I mean, cartoons can look amazingly beautiful, but they don't have the detail that realistic things have, which makes them easier to make. Look below at the comparison of detail:

A previous rumour says that the NX will render only at 900p.

There also was a rumour that says it would use state of the art hardware..

But most important.. the resolution is not that important.. All my movies is in 720p.. and they do look pretty.. Real.. :)

That wouldn't in any way stop it looking like a digital movie. I watch lots of digital movies in 720p and they still look like digital movies.

The PS5 Exists.

Absolutely wrong comparison. the "floor" to make stylized  graphics look good is lower but the floor to make realistic graphics look good has already been reached almost 10 years ago. From there it's equal ground for both.

Nintendo also makes games with different artstyles.

:/ saddly I think it's too early for Luigi's Mansion 3...

True or not, I would like to play another LM game.... just not like Dark Moon. I want an intense high stakes game, and not an objective based game that was Dark Moon... >_>

Hey now, Luigi's Mansion 2 did 4+ million so it's kinda big. As for Pikmin, this can't be known for sure, but I feel like it was probably in development for Wii U first using similar engine n assets from Pikmin 3. If that's true, a Luigi's Mansion made ground up for NX should look better, but we can only wait and see on that.

Why? It's been three years since LM2, plenty of time to make another game.

I was in no way saying that Luigi's Mansion was a bad game.

But what is clear from the GameCube performance is that it's not a system seller, which is what Nintendo needs, a game that makes everyone want a NX.

As I said to Dulfite, I'm not saying that Luigi's Mansion is a bad game or that it sells bad, it's just that it's one of those games that you buy because you already have the system, but you don't get the system just because of that game(s).
