The first highend VR headsets ship next month.  (Thats right NEXT MONTH).

With so much focus on these upcoming devices, it looks like Xbox only gamers may be left out of this new experience.   While the Xbox One will support theather mode via a Rift attached to a PC... atttached to an Xbox wirelessless or whatever,  its hardly a selling factor for the Xbox One.  I still beleive that one day a native headset for the Xbox One will be announced, but until that day, what do you do as an Xbox only gamer if you don't have an adequate PC?

Will this impact sales (and this could go either way.  It could hamper Xbox One sales or just simply explode PS4 sales even more)

How long do you think Microsoft will wait until announcing a VR device.

If its a power issue, and VR really takes off, could this cause Microsoft to end he gen early and release a new system with direct VR support.

I believe that their are a lot of implications for the Xbox  and I also believe that Xbox gamers want to try VR as much as everyone else.  If VR is a true hit, witll Xbox Only gamers feel left out?

Only civil discussions please.  Are you an Xbox Only gamers.  Will you consider a PS4, or upgrading your PC to take part in VR?

They won't do shit about it, they won't quickly release a new console, and VR isn't going to be a big hit initially (if ever). They also have AR. And they've stated that they will support Oculus.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

actually they might be in a quite good position regarding VR, because Sony will be locked into the PSVR 1 specs until PS5 releases, while MS could implement eye tracking and maybe make it wireless (a company claims to have a wireless chip capable of that) and have the "better VR" for 2+ years if they release that next year

with eye tracking it's possible to reduce workload by a lot as only a small part of the whole screen has to be rendered in high quality > higher res display/ higher fidelity games

THis is a hypothetical question.  So, in this hypothetical question I am asking what happens if it becomes a hit.  Thanks.

I can't help feeling that Kinect would be awesome for VR tracking.

They will probably have some games in the Xbox/ms store that will be playable with VR. For xone not so much because the power issue from this gen consoles will still be a issue. I just hope the next consoles vr ready from day one.

well, leap motion seems to work really nicely with the new update, but the Kinect thats on the market right now afaik is too slow for imidiate/super low latency hand/body tracking

Not would be , I really enjoy it with Kinect.  How silly this Iron man demo is, watching your own hands and seeing Iron man's hands is pretty cool and this is the old kinect not the newest one that can track your fingers  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei3k65wwylo

Xbox will get it on the PC once they move the branding over.

The PS5 Exists.

Interesting and considering that today a patent was uncovered for Sony's 'power glove', its really interesint that Kinect was built to do just that type of thing.  Now, there is obvious issues, like what happens if you turn around while wearing the headset.
