Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Your favorite rpgs on Gamecube?

Anyone who ever owned one knows the Gamecube did not receive many rpgs, probably only 20-30 titles total for the life of the system. (Still more than the poor n64 though.) However despite the limited selection it still has some good ones, several which were exclusive to the gc. My question to you is simple, what are your favorite rpgs that you played on the cube?

1. Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean - Unique card based battle system is the reason why it's first on my list, I really fell in love with this game.

2. Pokémon XD - The closest thing to a full 3d pokemon game so far, it was awesome trading between this and leaf green too.

3. Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door - I'm guessing this will be the favorite of most of you and it's well deserved. It's a great game, hopefully the next true paper mario game is more like this one.

4. Tales of Symphonia - Still r egarded at the best Tales of game by many, this game stands our to me cuz it was one of the first non turn based rpgs I ever played. It also had great sales for a jrpg on a small userbase, seriously why hasn't nintendo received more tales of games?

5. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance - I would probably have this higher if I was better at FE but I suck and usually lose motivation so I haven't actually seen the credits in this one. Still had lots of fun playing it though.

6. Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance - Fun game, and im not usually into dungeon crawlers. It really shines if you can get a friend to play co-op with.

7. Skies of Arcadia Legends - Well something had to be last and here it is. Not a bad game at all, it's actually really good but the random battle rate is so high I just couldn't get more than 10 hours in. Someday I hope to beat it.

If I remember correctly, they actually reduced the frequency of the random battles for the Gamecube version, compared to the Dreamcast. Regardless, you really should try to finish it one day, it is a truly wonderful game.

Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door & Skies of Arcadia Legends.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Although i haven't actually played any RPGs on a Gamecube, i've played the PS3 port of Tales of Symphonia and enjoyed it a lot!

Paper Mario TTYD, one of the best games of all time

Paper Mario: TTYD.

It is a masterpiece in my opinion.

1. Skies of Arcadia

2. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance

3.. Baten Kaitos Origins

Unfortunately, all of these games are really expensive to buy used now.  Nintendo/Sega needs to release these games on the eShop and I have no idea why it hasn't been done.

Tales of Symphonia and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles....pretty much it and it isnt saying much to be honest.

Oh and I guess Paper Mario TTYD is pretty good - havent played but I do have it.

Is Crystal Chronicles fun as a single player game?

Tales of Symphonia (still my favorite RPG of all time)

Baten Kaitos Origins (pretty much polished everything from the first one to perfection imo and the way it connects both stories was also pretty amazing)

Fire Emblem Path of Radiance (my first FE, beated it like 6 times)

Paper Mario TTYD (amazing game, tho I still prefer the original)
