In the last few months there's been a lot of speculation regarding the possibility of a new Crash Bandicoot game for the PS4 but, as of now, we still have to get a confirmation. So I thought it would be fun to make a SPECULATIVE thread, how would you feel about a possible acquirement by Nintendo/Microsoft of the Crash Bandicoot IP from Activision ? In the end Nintendo makes mainly platforming games so they would be capable of handling the IP as well as delivering with a good product and enlarge their IPs park. On the other hand Microsoft has better financial resources and has bought out many companie/IPs in the past (ie Rare from Nintendo with all the IPs tied to them like Battletoads and Banjo).

They can have it

It would be a massive dick move. Activision wouldn't care because they would get money, and the Crash fans would rage all over the internet.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

"It has been suggested that Sony has reacquired the Crash Bandicoot brand as Activision shut down the official CB website in 2013, which coincided with the franchise being removed from the list of Activision-owned properties on Wikipedia."

If there were to be another Crash game I think Activision will make it multiplat anyway so no need for anyone to buy it, Unless of course they want to pay for it to be exclusive or timed.

If Nintendo buys the IP, I would think what on earth do they need another platorm mascot for. If Microsoft buys the IP, I guess rare has more work to do, but IP´s with furyy animals are not MS thing, since B&K en Conker are not what they used to be in the hands of MS

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Honestly, I don't think I'd care either way. I played a bit of the old crash games but found them generally inferior to other platforming mascots of the time. I think there's a reason why the character has fallen into relative obscurity.

I suppose I'd actually be a bit unimpressed if Nintendo bought the mascot since I don't think they need him in the slightest.

At this current point in time, I would be fine with anyone having it. It has been a dormant franchise and the last few games were fairly average. If the purchase happened after say Crash 3 on PS1, then all hell would break loose however :P

Well, I mostly play on Ninten, so if it came to Ninten and it was good, I would play it. I figure Sony fans would be upset about it. Though I wonder if there are as many fans as there was during the PS1 days. I mean. that was quite some time ago. Nowadays, I wonder if people would know who he is.

As long as they make a new and good crash game they can have it
