My thoughts?

If an XB1 game goes to or is on PC and (A) you have to validate it as a "Microsoft Exclusive" or (B) you care because it reduces the value of your console, then you either have (C) a serious case of buyer's remorse represented by post-purchase rationalization or (D) you determine your self-worth based on circumstances surrounding a piece of plastic and the multi-billion dollar company(ies) that sold it(them) to you.

That's not to say it doesn't reduce the value of the console because it does, but that should only matter to those who are considering purchasing it.

But I guess since this is a sales site, if you're looking at it from a sales perspective then yeah its forgoing the console for the games sales, and its a matter of convenience preference which one you follow.

So....Remind me why I should buy an X1 when I already have a PC? And i'm pretty sure most users also own one lol honestly X1 isnt worth buying at all now lol

I thought you only used it for Mobas and low end games?. THose specs for QB require an actual upgrade to play it as it's shown.

I said mainly mobas lol didn't say low end games.

How many IP's Sony has coming to PC, or who owns the SF IP is entirely irrelevant. You can throw Shenmue 3 and the FF7 remake in there, too. Or the loads of indies PS4 had over Xbine for awhile. It wasnt a bad thing that games were on PC as well. All that mattered is PS4 was the only console. Its a funny, petty double standard.

Eventually some people here will understand theres extremely little overlap between PC and console and thats why MicroSony makes these deals that allow PC releases. If it were anywhere close to the big deal people make it out to be in these threads, they wouldnt do those deals :)

Its not rocket science.

Nah, it's quite relevant. You asked why SFV is hardly brought up. That's partially your answer. As for Indies/3rd Party Titles (anything not owned by Sony), they aren't in the same category as ReCore, Quantum Break, or Gears of War.

Indeed, it isn't rocket science.

Nah, i said never brought up. Its listed on all the list warz but no one ever clarifies that its also on PC, which makes it basically worthless judging by these threads. Hope that helps, not going to waste time discussing it with you any more ;)

The game will be available on two platforms. PC is neutral ground and isn't apart of the console war. Sony isn't getting it but it's still multiplatform. Look at how many games are multiplatform and Nintendo never got their own version.

Good move for Microsoft. Regardless of where consumers buy the game, Microsoft will benefit. Even if they diminish the value of the XBO, they'll be increasing the value of Win 10 (which they value more internally).

I can see this happening more often in the future with their exclusive games.

It really is a great strategy when you think about it. Vast majority of console gamers arent going to give a shit about a PC version, and they make more money off Windows 10 and its services than on hardware sales.

I dont have 10 yet, waiting before i do the upgrade. More of these "buy the game on Xbone, get free W10 version" would make me upgrade a hell of a lot faster.

Exactly. Also, looking at the recommended specs, it's obvious that if you have a PC that powerful there's no reason to believe that a PC owner wouldn't wait for the PC version to release. So it's not like they'll be cannibalizing XBO QB sales all that much, especially with cross-buy. Honestly, I see absolutely no negatives to this deal at all.

From the standpoint of a consumer product if it is avaliable on another platform, then the need for both platforms with respect to that game is shared. Ergo, the platform's value with respect to that game and by extension those who by that game is reduced. This should be obvious.

The console war is an abstraction where we consider the relative worth/value based on library, services, and other preferences between the consoles. Perhaps, I should make an addendum, because from the standpoint of the console war, it hasn't "lost value" although in the terms of the gaming market, it absolutely has. That's where I was considering it from.

CIP, I really wanted ROTR, I now have ROTR, I still don't have an XB1. QB is now coming to PC as well, I have even less of a reason to buy an XB1.

Not to mention, it gets really hard to justify another console, when they both for the most part do the same thing and have the same costs.

Still exclusive to me. Don't care about the "war"

QB isn't really a low end Moba game though =P. Also playing on low isn't the best ideal experience.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

Meh, not fan of PC gaming. Mainly the community, price and online puts me off of PC gaming. This game was coming to PC more than likely because this isn't an establish franchise like Gears or Halo. With that being said, if Microsoft forces cross play with xbox one and pc I will be extremely pissed and consider taking my online gaming to my playstation 4. I hate pc gaming community. Too many cheaters and the fact they will have a huge advantage will make me upset.
