Well, what is this going to do? It doesn't help the situation at all. If he really wanted his son to do better, maybe he should have paid more attention to his performance at school and tried to help him.

Make him do better next time ? Cause otherwise the high end world ain't gonna accept him if he keeps going like this ... 

My parents reminded me of how it was like to be poor when I had questionable academic performance so to cut the BS I went to university to study engineering!

The kid should be even lucky that he's getting fed, sanitized, and getting a free education! Why should parents have to accept their children unconditionally ?!

@Bold Some parents just can't do that like my dad coming nowhere near close to high school education!

I think it's wrong to shame children in this way. As a parent, why not truly sit down with the boy and help him with his work? Ass of a father

There is, but the problem is education. You think that father really knows any better way? He obviously does not actually beat the child, and him and the school do not think this is abuse. It is something about the area that they live. This is the norm for all of them or he would have been in trouble already. He has done it several times as we see from the video and no one has blinked an eye.

I agree with what you are saying, but not everyone is advanced as what we wish people could be. As I mentioned above, the father probably had a rough childhood as well and is doing the best he can. Probably had terrible parents if any at all, and went to the same schools, if any at all. What do we know? Can the Father even do basic math or English to help his child? Is this the only thing he can think of doing to save his kid from the streets like he possibly had to endure? Desperate people in desperate situations. Is this the case here? I do not know, but I can only imagine.

I agree with you. A lot of parents themselves didn't have the best upbringing, which can cause alot of complications when dealing with their child

Exactly. I'm shocked to hear that some users here think this is fine.

It's extreme, for sure, but it has clearly escalated to this point, as implied by the dialogue and the act itself. This seems to be more of a final straw than anything else. It's obvious that nothing thus far has worked, either.

People complain if you whoop your children so you have to discipline them some other way. Or maybe some people think you shouldn't discipline your children at all and let them act out *shrug*. Lets give them a cupcake and a pat on the head for that F or for misbehaving in school

Probably not the most effective way to get them to focus on school. Though when it panned over to the second kid, i died laughing.
