Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Hyrule Warriors Legends Gets Its First Review Score! (Famitsu)

Hyrule Warriors Legends has recieved it's first review score from Famitsu. Here's a taste of what the reviewers had to say:

Reviewer 1: "Same as the Wii U version, the fusion of “Warriors” and “Zelda” is stunning and leaves an interesting taste for us." (9/10)

Reviewer 2: "Alongside the Wii U version, not only are their new characters and story missions, the new systems involved have increased the volume of the game considerably – an absolutely great value." (9/10)

Reviewer 3: ""Warriors" fans and "Zelda" fans should definitely be interested, though. Since there are most things similar to the Wii U version, I would especially only recommend this to first-time players." (8/10)

Reviewer 4: "The basic game balance, progression of the game, controls, switching in combat amongst others are all carried out firmly, but the challenge, the growth as a player, and the massive collection of elements make replaying not a bitter experience at all." (10/10)

Final Score: 36/40 (Same as as given to the Wii U version)

Very interesting. I might have to play this.

I think Famitsu has more credibility than western reviewrs.

Sounds good but was expected (similar score). Maybe in the west there will be Points deducted for being "the same game again".

I hope the west destroys this shouldn't even exist game.

Famitsu has about the credibility as an informercial since last gen

Sarcasm right?

No, I'm serious. They value gameplay more than shiny graphics, they still know what games are meant to be.

From what I've heard, they're easily influenced, prone to inflate scores, there's rumors of them taking bribes and stuff like that.  Basically all the things western games journalism suffers from minus the wests tendency to try and shove politics and social issues into reviews and articles.

Didn't they give Final Fantasy 13 a perfect score? That only really had shiny graphics going for it...

I never understood the bashing against FF13, I loved it. No FF before had such an intense and pessimistic story, not even FF6. The battle system is awesome and besides graphics, it also had a great soundtrack. The only real negative I'd give is too much walking in one direction and not enough exploring, but you know what? Square looked at popular western games as an influence in this regard. They've learned their lesson, though, and made 13-2 way more open.
