Forums - Gaming Discussion - Anybody else just buy COD for the campaign?

I know I buy COD for it's campaigns since I'm utterly uninterested in participating multiplayer the majority of the time ...

I certainly don't pay full price for it though ...

I borrow it off my brother just for the campaign. I enjoyed the beta so played a little bit of mp but i'm a single player man at heart.

Yeah, I find no fun whatsoever in competing against strangers on the other side of the planet.

I play multiplayer for the social aspect, and that only works when we're all in the same room.

That's why i'm ignoring online... Just playing local multiplayer offline mode with my friends in real life.

I played and enjoyed the campaign for COD4 but the newer ones are so low brow, so over the top and ridiculous (soldiers with hipster hair cuts?!?!?!?) that I just can't handle it.

Nope, mainly interested in zombies. Play multiplayer every now and then, may try the campaign later

I buy them for local couch Co-op multiplayer once every 3 or 4 years. Is also the reason I don't buy other shooters.

yes i buy all games for the single player experience as lacking as they are sometimes.

I used to get COD for the SP but then eventually got myself into the MP side for a number of years but then I stopped playing COD altogether back in 2010 and haven't touched the series since. These days (mostly in the past too) COD campaigns just look like run of the mill shooters where enemies slowly pop out behind walls or gather around a specific area, sometimes even spawning in droves while your equally not so smart AI buddy shouts orders at you as if it's always going to ramp up the situation, to me that just feels both repetitive and dull. I long for a military FPS with insanely clever AI or at least to a degree where they are almost as good as a human. Until they change up the AI and how it acts I don't really see myself being interested in the SP.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

If I actually bought Cod games, it would probably be for the campaign if anything. Even if they tend to be silly and more than a little nonsensical at times, they are like big summer blockbusters. Stupid fun for as long as it lasts, but doesn't leave much of an impression in the end (There are, of course, exceptions to this).

However, most online multiplayer games are such cesspools of idiocy that unless I'm playing together with bunch of friends, I just can't be bothered to wade through all that stupidity to actually find some enjoyment out of the game.
