Forums - Politics Discussion - Two Southern California mosques vandalized, one with Jesus, other with fake grenade

Funny thing here, spraying "Jesus" on a wall of a mosque isn't exactly vandalism as a Muslim must believe in Jesus and accept him as a prophet of God to be a Muslim. All they need to do is add the Abraham prophets to the wall and create an arty mural out of it.

ISIS are known as Khawarij in the Muslim world I.e. Non Muslims who are destructive, rebellious and bringers of chaos and Anarchy. The problem is, since 9/11 the western world has given the Khawarij more credibility than the Muslim communities so now you have people who:

1) consider what these Khawarij terrorists believe to be far more credible than your everyday Muslim

2) people fearing everyday Muslims and Islam because they have been miseducated

3) people having the same extreme views and interpretations as the terrorists about a group of people and their faith than those who actually follow and practice it.

Logically and technically it is a recipe for disaster as it only succeed in:

1) empowering far left groups
2) empowering far right groups
3) creating fear and division
4) miseducation

In other words, unless people have goodwill, listening and understanding skills, want to see a better tomorrow, care enough for one another and actually act upon all the above, there will only be further issues as people become more and more divided.

You should come to Sweden; they're replacing right wing extremism with militant leftism and think it's all a grand idea. Police get more flack in the media than actual criminals, the whole country is inviting chaos with its exaggerated solidarity and accept totalitarian thought and oppression from minorities against their own in the name of understanding and brotherhood (we must accept people for who they are etc.).

As I said many times (not on here until now though), ISIS is laughing their asses off. They love this. As controversial as it may sound, we lost the war on terrorism. Yes, we managed to kill Bin Laden but that doesn't mean anything. These terrorist groups do not set out to assure the safety and survival of a single individual. They set out to strike terror into their enemies in order to get them to do things that they wouldn't normally do. This is so their enemies will destroy themselves in the process.

Look at 9/11. What happened after that event? The United States reorganized the government in order to combat terrorism, passed laws that went against it's own values and undermined it's own reputation and standing around the world by adapting an aggressive foreign policy and committing acts of torture that the US was never known for doing in the past (for the most part anyway). Not to mention that the terrorists who carried out the 9/11 attacks spent $500,000 in the process. The US spent $5 trillion to fight back. After looking at this, how can an American such as myself say that we won or that we're winning?

It is the same thing with ISIS. We can drop bombs on those guys all day. But their ability to spread fear which leads to hate is arguably more powerful than any bomb or gun the US, it's NATO allies, or Russia has in their arsenal. The stupid idiots who are doing all this vandalism and spreading all this hate are doing ISIS's job for them. Now the America as well as the rest of the Western world will have to spend an additional trillions of dollars to correct this stupidity. So yeah, ISIS is winning and it's our fault.

I know that and the only way to make them leave peacefully and in harmony is to strengthen what is common between them and forget the differencies

They must have interreligious talks

Muslims to respect christians and jews

Christians respect muslims and jews

Jews to respect christians and muslims

They have the same God

God didnt choose one group over the others

God is Love and loves all of his creations for him its not important if someone is a monotheist a polytheist or a pagan or atheist

That hippie stuff only works on paper. As long as there are differences, in this case on belief, some will see defiance on the other. Some people are willing to include people different to them, some don't have room even for tolerance, and that won't ever go away.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

it's disappointing behavior but vandalization is not as bad as murder so maybe we should applaud the perpetrators loving restraint..

Spraying Jesus on the wall of a mosque is vandalism regardless of wether they believe in him or not. Spraying jesus on a christians private house is still vandalism. Spraying jesus on the wall of a goddamn church is still vandalism.

The spray painted a picture of jesus on a wall... oh noes! how evil these chrisitans are!

not really.

There will always be pricks in every religious group is the way I see it. Basically the extremists that can't respect anything other than thier own.

1) No-one is claiming they're more credible. They just have a bigger effect so need to be treated as more of an issue.

2) That's not entirely true. The polling on opinions of everyday muslims across the world (by Pew as well as others) does not paint a very good picture. A lot of the fear is entirely genuine and not based on bigotry or generalisation at all. Here's a video by a muslim woman who explains the ACTUAL problem better than anyone else has:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSPvnFDDQHk

The fact that a lot of people don't understand this problem (and think it's just a small extremist minority) IS indeed based on miseducation.

3) Very few people in the west have the same extreme views as the terrorists. Maybe a few wacky christians in the US. But that's about it. Unless of course you're just confusing xenophobia and hatred with the terrorists views. That's a confusion you really can't be making. Simple tribalism by itself can only motivate a very narrow range of extremist actions. You can't justify killing cartoonists with tribalism alone, you need an actual principled ideology to do that.
