Sony billed the game as being the future of their brand. This means they expect upwards 5 million in sales or more, which is in the Gears of War, Uncharted and Last of Us wheel house. 5M+ Sellers only. This would put Zelda in the same wheel house as Zelda in terms of expected reception.

If you're going by that you need to use aggregate scores, not one site. 

Nice thread. I just want both games to be good as each one looks totally amazing in my opinion. Slightly bummed I don't have a PS4 Pro but at least I'll get to play Zelda on the Switch. Have no idea how to find the time to properly play both games, though.

I will say from what little I've seen from this game - If not for Zelda BoW I'd be extremely jealous as an XB One/future Switch owner as this is about the one PS4 exclusive that I really want to try as it really looks damn cool.. I think it'll be a close race both quality and sales wise, though if this Zelda trends more towards open world/TP/oldschool in style as opposed to the more Skyward Sword/Wind Waker puzzelda style - as I believe it will - I think BoW will edge it out in both.. 

Horizon will take upwards 40 hours as it is an action rpg. From my experience with Zelda, that was a similar time range.

I do believe that title goes to the Diablo franchise.

I read it and saw that but it doesn't seem to fit the general opinion of the game which is why I found it odd that you picked this one in particular. And I never said anything about graphics so that does not apply to me lol even though I think on a technical/grpahical level Horizion easily takes the cake where as on an artisitic side I give it to Zelda. Also I am not in the camp that thinks this game is looking to outdo Zelda I think it is an odd comparission personally and think that this was only done because both are "Open world games"(despite being in a thread about the predicition of it). The game and level design from what we have seen of this game looks great so if that is where it is at for you then you should be looking forward to this game as well.

Why did you pick games like GOW A and Beyond Two Souls? When talking about Most Anticipated games for Sony? I thought thouse belonged to games like Uncharted, The Last of Us, Gran Turismo, GOW(the 3 main line games), Metal Gear Solid 4, Heck even Killzone 2 was one of the most anticipated Sony games and I am sure that did at least 3 million. I would have even given you The LAst Gurdian as I feel it was a most aniticpated game seeing as it was in development for 50yrs(not litereally but you get my point lol).

I think you are confusing Most Anticipated with games that were rated decent to good to great. I will give you Infamous Second Son and KZ. SF though as I feel both fo those games should have did better sales wise but are by no means sales duds. I do think you are under eastimating Horizon though saying that Zelda will "easily" outsell it which for it to be "easily" I would say it would mean by what a few million? I think Horizion has a chance to sell between 4-5 million maybe even more and I can't see BoTW wild doing any less than 5 million. I mean it is the first Zelda game in a LONG time AND it will be on 2 systems with one being a luanch system...yeah ANYTHING less than 5 million for BoTW would be below expectations IMO. But we shall see! I think both games will sell great and will score great with Horizion already starting it off sitting on an 88!
