Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 2007 was the best xbox line up ever.

Credit to gaf:

2015:
Halo 5 - Metacritic score of 85
Rise of the Tomb Raider - Metacritic score of 86
Forza Motorsport 6 - Metacritic score of 87
That's an average of 86/100 across three titles

2007:
Halo 3 - Metacritic score of 94
Project Gotham Racing 4 - Metacritic score of 85
Mass Effect - Metacritic score of 91
BioShock - Metacritic score of 96
That's an average of 91.5/100 across four titles

This whole 2015 is the best line up and 2016 will be better is rewriting history.  2007 was a much better year and I'd argue it's the best ever but definitely better than 2015.

I know PR is supposed to paint a good picture but in this instance it's just a straight up lie.  Is there no accountability for big corporations anymore?

Best is subjective. The best marketing "trick" I've seen probably belongs to go-kart tracks in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. If you drive down the strip you see numerous go-kart tracks advertising that they have the fastest karts on their signs.  Surely they can't all have the fastest go-karts...  Can they?

Metascores? Really? You think they knew how 2015 games were going to score when they started with their PR? ffs...

Console-wise they were at the time. Tomb Raider isn't exclusive either really. They were key Xbox titles though.

I really really loved the Xbox 360 between 2005 and 2008. It started adopting the diverse lineup that PlayStation was better known for. Unfortunately they seemed to then win their key markets and started to take a back seat.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

You forgot Rare Replay and Gears Ultimate.

For me going from ps2, to 360,  to ps3, to ps4 was the perfect combo.

That 2005-2008 was a golden era for Xbox players.

Never before has Gears of war, Fable, Halo, and Forza launched in the same time period and add tomb raider to that list. 5 big franchises in The same time period. That has never happened before in Xbox history. That is what Microsoft is saying. It truly is the greatest holiday line-up in Xbox history.

Though I generally tend to be multi-platform. I was pretty much the same as far as my preferred/primary system from 1999-2015, though it was Dreamcast - GameCube - 360 - PS3 - Wii U - PS4 (as it took a while to get going).

Gears Ultimate, Rare Replay and I thought Fable Legends was supposed to release in 2015.

Metacritic scores are jokes most of the time. Too many people on this site take it seriously. Never in my life would I rate Bloodborne over an 8/10 or Advanced Warfare over a 6/10. I just use them as a general guide. The difference between an 88 and a 92 is ABSOLUTELY meaningless.
