I think Anime is terrible now. Same with most TV and movies and american cartoons. I used to love anime back in the day when it was called japanimation. But around the time when they made samurai x suck I stopped... Seriously watch the first 4 episodes of samurai X. That show was beast then it became all childish like most anime these days.. I miss the days when anime was mature.

My fav anime movies: Howl's moving castle, Wolf Children, Spirited Away (duh!) and Graveyard of fireflies (which made me cry like a little b**ch.

I will have to give this one a look.

In terms of presentation, I still can't get over Akira. Get the highest quality copy you can find, and appreciate that everything was hand-drawn. This video sums up why it's so amazing.

If you're into Sci-fi, you should check out Psycho Pass. The first season was pretty fantastic. Sword of the Stranger is also great, if you haven't seen it. It, alongside the Cowboy Bebop movie, has pretty much the best action scenes I've seen.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you about (American)TV, though. Some incredible shows have been coming out lately.

OT: I haven't seen this film, yet, but I've seen it constantly recommended for people looking for quality Anime films.

You are right.. Game of thrones is awesome and some other TV shows. This is a good time for american TV. I have been meaning to see the cowboy bebop movie and will check out your other recommendations

We watched that in our Japanese class a few years ago, and i was fucking holding back. If i watched that alone my parents probably think that i masturbated and my cum went everywhere from the amount of tissues i used.... =D 

5CM per second has been on my plan to watch list for ages now, hopefully i will watch it by the end of this year.

And for animes movies, i haven't watched a lot.  i would say Summer Wars was pretty good! I loved the society they lived in how this "game" involves with their lives greatly.  And Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva movie was very good. Maybe im being a bit biased since the layton series is one of my favourite series, while seeing it animated in an hour long movie just makes me fall in love it with more. I love how they incooporate the puzzles within it, it makes you join in as well. Hopefully we will get another movie or better a Mystery anime TV series!

I haven't seen this yet, but I do agree that 5cm/s does make some of the best looking anime movies out there..

I love clannad, but tbh i got more emotional whith the little side stories after each season.
