Forums - Gaming Discussion - Bought FF Type 0 finally

Quite fun game, but the PSP overtures were definitely hilarious. Voice acting attempt from SE was subpar. But definitely worth.

Let me know when youre bored. Took me about 30m-1h to realise it was just a monster hunter clone wannabe. Dunno how much the PS4 version changed it... but i just can't stomach mission grind structures.

Let me know if its still grindy. Who knows... might give it a second chance sometime.

Nothing changed. You just get EASY mode and better graphics.

Type-0 feels like a game where 10 people had a great idea 'We should make a game with time events like Persona' 'we should make a game with heavy RTS elements' 'we should make a game with lots of characters and great lore like FFVI' etc..... The issue is that all of them wanted their idea in the game so you end up with a horrible mess of a game.

Don't get me wrong their are moments of greatness but that mostly happens at times when you do something for the first tme, like the first time you do a RTS kind of mission, you probably have some fun but like everything in the game how more you play it how more you will get annoyed and even hate it.

Good to hear you're enjoying. I havent played the game myself but am looking forward to it some day.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

Have a question OP - just curious but when you bought the game (and if it was new) - did the demo for FFXV come with it?

Edit: Assuming you bought it at a brick and mortar store or outside of US - nvm XD.

It didn't unfortunately.

I haven't played it (or anything else) since two days ago so I'll give my impressions later. Been busy and got some Thanksgiving stuff to attend to. Stuffing in particular :)

From what i played in the PSP version it was. When you reach a certain point you can go on MH like missions wich involve repetition in order to get experience and the sort (i dont recall if you have to do them to eventually advance the story, but it probably was the case one way or another. It was necessary to level the other characters, that i remember. And you have 14). The way the areas were split. It was all invoking of a MH game. Even the combat itself was pretty basic from what i experienced. 4 moves, and the different characters are the variations (just like weapons in MH). I was pretty disappointed.

But, i dont know how they have changed it on the PS4. With that said, i have stayed far away from it cause i got bored pretty fast with the PSP version. Also, apologies for the sketchy impressions. I played it a long time ago and what i remember is that i disliked it and it felt like a monster hunter game. Wich tbh is something common on PSP games. The valkyria chronicle games (2 and 3, though 2 more) also went that route with their gameplay flow (not the combat ofc, just the grindy nature).

Are they ever going to make a type 1 for vita and ps4? Once they're done with dissidia this better be next!
