And it's also pretty clear that Nintendo plans on unifying their platforms to offer a family of devices rather than single isolated platforms. People who don't believe that are in denial.

Why should I be denial if Iwata has already denied a fusion platform?

"Still, I am not sure if the form factor (the size and configuration of the hardware) will be integrated. In contrast, the number of form factors might increase. Currently, we can only provide two form factors because if we had three or four different architectures, we would face serious shortages of software on every platform. To cite a specific case, Apple is able to release smart devices with various form factors one after another because there is one way of programming adopted by all platforms. Apple has a common platform called iOS. Another example is Android. Though there are various models, Android does not face software shortages because there is one common way of programming on the Android platform that works with various models. The point is, Nintendo platforms should be like those two examples. Whether we will ultimately need just one device will be determined by what consumers demand in the future, and that is not something we know at the moment."

I believe this is what ur referring to, in which case u would be wrong, he never denies anything and is very heavily implying a unified concept where software is shared among multiple hardware configurations.

No my friend. It isnt. Will be on nx at launch.

Nx will release in 2016. Learn to think.

Really?

Gamecube
The Official Reveal of the Gamecube was August 2000.
It released first released in JP in September 2001 and NA in November 2001.
Total Time: 13 Months for JP/15 Months for NA.

Wii
The Official Reveal of the Wii which at that time, still called Nintendo Revolution was June 2005.
Released in November 2006 for NA and December 2006 for the Rest.
Total Time: 17 months for NA/ 18 Months for thre Rest

Wii U
The Official Reveal of the Wii U was June 2011.
Released November 2012.
Total Time: 17 months

Want to bet the Nintendo NX will be official revealed around E3 2016? And going by there past home consoles, it will release in November 2017. What are you going by when you say it will release in 2016? Wishful thinking?

Not sure actually, there is definitely a chance that Zelda U could be cross gen, but it's unlikely

Talking about Smart decisions the smartest Nintendo could take is to release NX in 2016. they already tested the waters back in 2006 with the Wii and TP, I don't really know why they should wait that long to give it a timed exclusivity, moreover to release it on the same date on both consoles is the best choice for everyone including Nintendo:

-Wii U owners will get the game they were supposed to get;

-Wii U owners will get the opportunity to chose between playing the "worse" version on the console they already own or to pick up the best one on the NX, in the first case they save money, in the second one they get a better game, win-win;

-Diehard Zelda fans will get both versions;

-Non Wii U owners won't have to wait to get the game and more importantly won't get spoiled by any mean on the game;

-NX will have a big title in the first weeks after it's launch, if not on the Day One;

and the list goes on...

It would be completely dumb to release the next home console in 2016. We discussed that before.

And trust me, I'm a dieharc Zelda fan and I won't buy both versions at the same time aka in 2016.

And some Wii U may still be angry (including my own) because the console is worthless for them if they have mainly bought it for Zelda. If Nintendo releases Zelda on both consoles simultaneously than I'm out and will refuse to buy any of their products in the future.

Honestly a true Nintendo fan would say this.

"Wii U is a commercial failure, I want to see Nintendo bounce back bigger and better, I would rather see Zelda U go multiplatform at the same time to give the NX a CHANCE at succeeding at launch"

A moment of selfish happiness on a failed console is not going to bring you years of happines from Nintendo if Nintendo can't bounce back form this disaster.

GENERAL Obvious: "Zelda Wii U" was announced during the launch of Wii U. Saying that, they probably didn't expect the Wii U to end up being as horrible as Donald Trump.

Saying that, it probably was a filler name as well. I assure you that the only reason they called it "zelda U" was because at first they probably weren't even thinking about the next generation console, so they thought it would be stupid to put it on both consoles.

Look at Twilight princess for gamecube/wii. if the gamecube didn't fail, I'm sure they wouldn't have put it on the wii as well.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Why is it unlikely?

If you ask me, it seems unlikely they'll let what's probably one of their most expensive productions ever remain exclusive to a console that will top out at a 14 million install base.

I'm talking about the actual console releases. Also, all of the other consoles had Codenames like NX too which were announced before the reveals.

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

Holding out until 2017 is not an option for Nintendo at this point.

They cannot stay afloat for another two years with only the anemic Wii U and fading 3DS to sustain them. By the time NX came out, they wouldn't have a player base left.
