DivinePaladin said: Ignoring the obvious trolling, I am a bit alarmed by how hard they've been milking Zelda lately. There are nearly as many Nintendo-Affiliated Zelda launches in the last five years (from 2011-2016) as there were in the 25 years before that. |
This is interesting, makes me think. Let's recap, ignoring VC releases (they'll more or less cancel each other out anyway):
2016-2011:
Zelda U-2016, TPHD-2016, Hyrule Warriors Legends-2016, Triforce Heroes-2015, MM3D-2015, Hyrule Warriors-2014, ALBW-2013, WWHD-2013, SS-2011, OoT3D-2011, FSae-2011.
11 releases. Now let's see how far I'll come going 11 releases before that, ignoring the GC collectors disc because that wasn't released at retail and the Tingle games since the first was only in JP and EU and the second only in JP. Now:
ST-2009, PH-2007, Link's Crossbow Training-2007, TPgc-2006, TPwii-2006, FSA-2004, TMC-2003, WW-2002, ALttP/FS-2002, MM-2000, OoA-2000.
That's 2011-2000, the next game would be OoS in 2000 and OoT in 1998. 11 years, so they basically crancked up production a hundred percent due to these remakes and remasters. There's four main series, new and original games in the period from 2016-2011, 9 in the period 2011-2000, keeping the ratio on new games fairly consistent. Anyone do with this information what they will.
