I labeled Hyrule Warriors as a spin off. I feel as if I made that very clear. I disagree with ALttp Remix and we will see about the nxt Zelda.

except its a new game with entirely different dungeon's, story, and gameplay mechanic's so it counts as a new game.

I disagree. Pretty much exactly the same overworld. Same gameplay with very modest changes. I'm not putting down the gameplay addition of going 2d, but I'll be damned if I didn't just use it to collect those shell creatures, to slip through cracks, and on only ONE boss. In all honesty, how does that justify as a new addition? It's borderline gimmick.

Also, you can't really do anything in 2d. You don't get a weapon to fight in 2d until the end and you only can be flat stanley for like 10-15 seconds at a time. Not much of an addition. I booted up ALttP and I was astounded by how similar it was. I would recommend you do the same before you respond.

did you forget that A Link Between Worlds, Hyrule Warriors, Triforce Heroes, and Zelda U exist?

I mentioned 2 of the three and the last one I didn't mention because it has no solid release date and not really even a release window. Hell, we don't even fully know the release platform.

As of the Nintendo Direct two days ago, Zelda U is confirmed for 2016, so it has a clear release window.

Wait a minute. People are complaining about how Nintendo spends a long time to make each new Zelda game a masterpiece rather than releasing annual versions of the game with minimal improvement or innovation each year like so many other publishers? Yikes. Be careful what you wish for.

Being similar to A Link to the Past doesn't change the fact that it's a new game though. Otherwise quite a few sequels such as Super Mario Bros. 2 (Lost Levels) and Final Fantasy X-2 would all of a sudden not count.

If you think A Link Between Worlds is A Link to the Past "remixed," then Twlight Princess is just Ocarina of Time "remixed." *sigh*

Anyway, I will concede that it is somewhat odd that Zelda has become Nintendo's go-to franchise for yearly spin offs/remakes, although I'm not complaining since it's my favorite franchise. However, I still don't think it's fair to call Zelda an 'annual' franchise. Recent remakes/spinoffs I think have led some people to jump to this conclusion, but the bottom line is there hasn't been a new mainline Zelda release since 2013, and before that 2011.

First I thought this was serious, then I realised it was a troll thread. And now I'm not too sure again....

I haven't played SMB Lost Levels? Did they reuse the entire world from the original. Like  Ctrl C 'ed it? I can't comment on that because I'm not familiar with either of the games you referenced. I believe I provided sufficient reasoning for why I am upset and why any fan of the series should be.

Hd remakes ran rampant during the hd gen. This is the 1st hd system nintendo has released and they have alot of zelda games. It's pretty easy to presume they would follow suit. I only have a problem with it if it takes resources away from new-zelda development. I'm not sure about windwaker, but i know they said tantalus is working on the tp remaster so i don't really care there. Sometimes remasters are a good thing as well. I really wish they would've remastered ocarina and majoras mask on the wii-u instead of the 3ds. I'd have bought those. The 64 zeldas and twilight princess have aged the worst in my opinion.
