Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Nintendo going to make a new Legend of Zelda?

I'm curious if they will ever release a new Legend of Zelda. One that isn't a remake. One that isn't a spinoff .

It's so bad they even remade a spinoff. Except it was worse. And it originally was pretty bad.  (Hyrule Warriors)

Ocarina remade

Majora remade

Twilight Princess remade

Wind Waker remade

A Link to the Past remixed.

Damn.

Not a single new Zelda released this gen. Pretty bad considering it's a yearly series like Call Of Duty or Assassin's Creed. Would those devs get away with rereleasing the same games every year? Ok, some of you might laugh and say they already are, but Nintendo LITERALLY is rereleasing the same Zelda games every year.

Ocarina rereleased 2011

Wind Waker rereleased 2013

A Link to the Past remixed and then rereleased 2013

Hyrule Warriors newly released in 2014, and then rereleased 2015

Majora's Mask rereleased 2015

Twilight Princess rereleased 2016

Am I the only one who sees this? Am I the only one bothered by this? Does no else want a new Zelda? I like Zelda and want a new one.

Don't use 3DS remakes to make your point if your gonna ignore the new Zelda on 3DS.

A link between worlds is a new Zelda, and the best one since Wind Waker, it doesn´t matter if you think is not new, because that´s a fact, it is.

Zelda U is coming next year. So they spend around 2-3 years between every new Zelda, pretty reasonable.

This

Skyward Sword was good.

Yeah you conveniently forgot a link between world and Zekda U is coming next year, so they are going at the pace of a new one every 2 years, if you dont count spin offs and HD ports. Zelda has had at least one title coming out each year in the latest years. There is alot to go around.

Well other than Link Between Worlds, we are getting a new one next year.

Assuming you're talking about the 3DS version, it's slated as a 2016 game.

As for the rest, I don't really mind remakes, but I guess I can concede that you have a case with the spinoff games. I liked Hyrule Warriors, but it's definitely not Zelda quality.

A Link Between Worlds was fantastic though...I'd gladly take a sequel to that.

You're right. I really wish they would put another Zelda into development for the Wii U.

Well, at least there's one good thing about all those remakes/remasters: next gen they can't remake anything else! hahaha

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

did you forget that A Link Between Worlds, Hyrule Warriors, Triforce Heroes, and Zelda U exist?
