Forums - Gaming Discussion - Heads Up For PS4/PC/XB1 Owners: Stay out of Tombraider Threads On N4Gs And Smaller sites

That is fucking dirty. It does the game no favors by taking away potential sales and it hurts gamers (like me) who know that certain experiences are rare and want to go in totally blind.

A guy posted all of the MGS4 spoilers on my wall back in 2008 before the game even came out because he thought I was a PlayStation fanboy (wtf!?!). Ruined an experience I paid $500 to enjoy. And for what? Console wars? Some people are just sad.

Someoone made an account on N4Gs, called themselves 'griblegrunger' (with one 'b') and started PMing people with the ending of TLOU. I HATE this sort of thing.

I hope there's also the sequence of "Lara about to getting executed, dude misses at point-blank range, Lara rolls and suddenly finds a grenade launcher lying around". Because I laughed a lot with that on the Tomb Raider reboot.

As for the OP, this is nothing new. Whenever a big game releases, stay away from everywhere that could spark a discussion about it. I got the ending of Fallout 4 spoiled in youtube while watching an interview of the director (by the comments, not the director itself). I've been spoiled numerous times by comments on a lot of sites. 4chan and reddit can also be nasty in this aspect.

Yes, it's nothing new but to directly ask people to do this is out of order. N4Gs has doaens of his subscribers on there.

What is there to spoil? Lara goes through survival trials that make her look like a "real, non sexualized woman", defeats the bad men (and sci-fi-channel-supernaturalities), 10/10 Polygon.

Nuuuuu.... I wanted to play the game. Story seemed very original this time. My day is ruined.

I'm so gonna report you. But not today... tomorrow!

Seriously though, spoiling the game for whoever wants to play it but can't is highly ridiculous and childish. This behavior is expected from 8 year-olds. But what the heck... I already saw the first 27 minutes on IGN so I really don't mind if it's spoiled for me.

People love setting the world on fire. I still remember a huge outrage in a spanish forum when someone asked a question (in the title thread) about Heavy Rain, then proceeded to completely spoil the final twist of the game in the post. Even if the mods do something, it's generally too late for some users.

Spoilers are a funny thing, easiest thing to do is ignore anything related to that thing until you see/play it. I've remained pretty much spoiler free for the last set of Marvel films. Makes my enjoyment of them all that much better.

Hmm, pie.

Where exactly did he ask for this specifically?

Towards the end. Someone sent me a Youtube video set for the time he said it. It was a British guy who said it. I didn't want to listen to any more of it just in case they said something about the game.

edit: it was an American guy. Go to 1:08:30 and listen:

Most of the time, I don't even look at trailers or reviews when it's something I know I want to see. I read them out watch them after the final credits roll.  Certain experiences (ie Until Dawn) would have had some of the best moments ruined it I watched a review.

Angry Joe is the worst about this.  THE WORST.  He'll say "Go see the movie. I not going to spoil it for you. There is this one part where X fights Y and Y dies and you find out that Z was the villain all along. You just feel...". He can't help himself!

They'll spoil it for XBO gamers that want to buy it but haven't had a chance, yet. Trying to hurt their "enemy" will end up hurting their supporters, too.
