How the fuck did EA lose money? Especially with some of their biggest releases in that period too!

Looking at the fiancial results the PS3/360 are dead and the PS4/Xone don't have as large an install base yet.  Also NBA Live was a massive bomb not good when you consider how much those sport licences cost.

Happy to see a loss. Hope this company continues to burn until it either dies or changes.  Not likely to last.  Probably just a temporary set back for the evil empire.

Loss on Licensed Intellectual Property Commitment (COGS). During the first quarter of fiscal
2015, Electronic Arts terminated its right to utilize certain intellectual property that the Company
had previously licensed and we incurred a loss of $122 million on the corresponding license
commitment. This expense is excluded from our non-GAAP financial measures.

“Results exceeded our expectations again,” said Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen. “Based on the ongoing strength of our business and reception of Star Wars Battlefront, we are raising our full-year outlook for the second time. Our markets are very healthy, the digital transition continues to drive margins, and engagement in our live services and excitement for our upcoming launches is exceptional.” http://www.gamezone.com/news/ea-remains-1-publisher-on-ps4-xbox-one-3427161

They seem satisfied.

Really excited for Battlefront.

Expecting it to push over 10 Million, pretty easily too.

Eh, ok. If you think EA is the "evil empire" you are more than likely blind to the world

I doubt the NBA licence costs them too much since 2K also makes an NBA game therefore there isn't the premium of exclusivity to bump the price up. Still the game flopping will mean a loss on that title regardless of how much they pay for the licence.

Wrong. FIFA 16 sold a lot no matter what you say. Plenty of people are still playing their PS3 and 360. The PS4/X1 install base is over 40M and there's PC also.
