I'm not buying an external hardware just for this game. Devil's Third is getting a physical release over Fatal Frame V? That is BullSHIT.

I was going to get the game but I will not be until or if a physical version is announced.

Fatal Frame V deserved a physical release, I'll agree with you on that, but I'm also glad that Devil's Third got one, it's the only game releasing on December for Wii U that I'm interested in.

I'm interested in Devil's Third as well, but if it was one or the other, Fatal Frame V should have gotten priority.

Eh, download only with the shitty Wii U storage space means I won't be getting FF unless they make a physical version

Should've just put it on PS4/X1 so it'd actually sell/have a better chance of getting a physical release even better that way since the game wouldn't eat half of your storage XD

Nintendo co-owns the rights to the franchise, so that won't happen. Not like it's ever sold well to begin with, even on PS/XB.

OT: I'm very excited for this game, and will be getting it digital or not. I'd much prefer a physical copy, but NoA is pretty shitty in their practices sometimes, and I hope that this game does well enough for them to consider a physical release in NA in the future.

Is this a joke post, or are you really completely uninformed about the ease to expand Wii U disc space or the poor FF sales had on other platforms in the past?

I'm not uninformed, I'm simply not going to expand the storage when it should have been larger to begin with.

Ah okay that makes sense...? Seems you go Chihuahua only for the sake of it ;) and it seems you will miss the best Project Zero game ever made.

Except you can buy that 1tb drive for your Wii U if you want. Sony forces you to buy their expensive memory storage format. You really don't see the difference here?

The problem is i DO see a difference, that difference being comparing the price of proprietory storage hardware which came about asa result of a past generations more open format leading to rampant piracy, to the price of a more universally usable device such as usb flash memory or external hdd.

Dont get me wrong, im not defending the horrible practice of using proprietory memory cards on a console, or the Vita itself, I am however sick of seeing false equivalency used to backup an argument then randomly and arbitrarilly bringing up an entirely different console. The argument has no merrit what so ever besides taking a sly potshot at "the hardware of the competitor".

The original argument was regarding the games size fitting on to the WiiU (or not fitting at all, as the case would be on a 8gb console), it's a valid point to make even if you have the option of using a usb stick or external hdd to install the game to. Requiring the purchase of additional storage hardware just to play a game is bad news, just like the release of the 8GB flash storage PS3's, the only difference there being the 8GB ps3's came in late in the consoles life span as a "rock bottom entry point" rather than an option since launch.

The true issue here however is Nintendo's thick as a plank descision to make the release digital only, which is ultimately the root reason for the debate to begin with, as has the game been on disk anyone could have played it on just their stock console.

When faced with the option of releasing the game, at some point or other someone at Nintendo made the concious decision to release one of their consoles largest (when installed) games ever. as digital only for it's native english release, despite knowing that it would force 8GB console owners to buy additional memory just to play it, and they went ahead with this not seeing a problem with removing the physical option.

In my opinion, whoever made that call was a moron.

In my opinion, the person who keeps greenlighting Fatal Frame games is a moron. This can't be a profitable franchise, right? :p

And yeah, 8 or 32GB isn't enough, but it's not that big of an issue either since HD disks aren't exactly expensive anymore and have multiple uses. I'm going to need one to install those patches of Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Anyway, I'm from Europe, so it's not an issue for me, but I'm not going to buy it anyway. I might try the free demo just for the sake of it though.

NoA has made NoE look good this gen, that's scary.

Anyway, I don't actually know who brought up the Vita, if it was me then I apologize lol.

edit: it was me talking about so many Vita games being digital in the West and that no one complains about it, but I never mentioned the memory card stuff. Someone else brought that up.

I frankly don't think that the difference in sales that a physical release would have added was projected to be large enough to be worth the extra effort and recources. The only people who were going to buy this game at all was a very tiny, very niche, very hardcore group of fans. A much larger percentage of Wii U owners own the 32GB console than ones that own the quickly phased out 8GB model, so it's safe to assume that that ratio remains the same among that very small subset of Fatal Frame fans. Even if we completely ignore the existance of external hard drives, most of the people in the west who ever intended to buy this game will have more than enough room to download the game in its entirely, and that group of people, again, is already going to be very, very, very small. By then looking at the size of the exponentially smaller group of people who intended to buy the game, but physically can't because their console doesn't have enough memory for the download, and its easy to see why releasing this title digital only was likely a very easy decision to make.

I don't think the person who made that call was a moron at all. It makes sense.

I'm not uninformed, I'm simply not going to expand the storage when it should have been larger to begin with. And if Tachi is anything to go by with her opinion on the game, probably should've stayed in Japan anyway.

She also thinks Until Dawn is crap and a lot of people here seem to like it.

I don't care

Why make a comment when you have not even played it???? The reviews have all been positive so far from what ive read, and just because one person does not like it on here doesnt really mean anything.

Because I can? If I can't comment until I've played it then neither than should you because I've doubt you've played this game too, unless you live in Japan. Reviews are just opinions at the end of the day, so they hold as much weight as hers. So it does

Oh well. Can't miss what I never had. Sucks for me. I'll simply just go for things more in my radar than this, which isn't that hard
