Except you can buy that 1tb drive for your Wii U if you want. Sony forces you to buy their expensive memory storage format. You really don't see the difference here?

The problem is i DO see a difference, that difference being comparing the price of proprietory storage hardware which came about asa result of a past generations more open format leading to rampant piracy, to the price of a more universally usable device such as usb flash memory or external hdd.

Dont get me wrong, im not defending the horrible practice of using proprietory memory cards on a console, or the Vita itself, I am however sick of seeing false equivalency used to backup an argument then randomly and arbitrarilly bringing up an entirely different console. The argument has no merrit what so ever besides taking a sly potshot at "the hardware of the competitor".

The original argument was regarding the games size fitting on to the WiiU (or not fitting at all, as the case would be on a 8gb console), it's a valid point to make even if you have the option of using a usb stick or external hdd to install the game to. Requiring the purchase of additional storage hardware just to play a game is bad news, just like the release of the 8GB flash storage PS3's, the only difference there being the 8GB ps3's came in late in the consoles life span as a "rock bottom entry point" rather than an option since launch.

The true issue here however is Nintendo's thick as a plank descision to make the release digital only, which is ultimately the root reason for the debate to begin with, as has the game been on disk anyone could have played it on just their stock console.

When faced with the option of releasing the game, at some point or other someone at Nintendo made the concious decision to release one of their consoles largest (when installed) games ever. as digital only for it's native english release, despite knowing that it would force 8GB console owners to buy additional memory just to play it, and they went ahead with this not seeing a problem with removing the physical option.

In my opinion, whoever made that call was a moron.
